General/Wip thread

Rules
  • Declare before posting. This makes sure someone isn't editing their turn while you're editing yours.
  • You must wait for two other people to declare and post before you can declare again. If no one has declared for three days, you can declare again.
  • Declares must have their turns edited within 12 hrs, or they are voided.
  • Only declare if you mean to finish your turn. It's particularly rude to declare and then hop off for the night, because it prevents others in different timezones from being able to play.

A lonely station drifts silently in space. What happened to the crew, and what will happen to the station?
Only time will tell. It appears all of the weaponry is powered down, although the cameras are still recording. Perhaps someone could utilize the equipment from the bridge?

Declare.

Hungry for metal and spotting the reactor's energy signature, an interlocker has come.

Some info in OP about the arena would be good. Like how to fire the sentry guns and about the elevator and the external weapons and stuff.

Where you at, I don't see you.

Edit: NVM, the little comet I take it.

Reserved.

With a *thump* a purple cube has fallen from the stash in a locker.

Edit: nevermind, I take it back, undeclaring, yeah this map is way too small for my armies. I(and probably everyone else) am going to have to make a new one from the ground up if I want to participate in this game, even my smallest unit is huge here.

Just how tall are your units?
This map is made for units that are 24px tall, which is the standard height.

then why are the elevator doors so small? one of my basic units is 29 pixels tall and it looks fucking giant in this map. I'll make an example when I'm done eating.

alright here we go so, I don't know how to resize images so I'm doing it this way instead.

So the big red guy on the left is my basic combat unit, 29 pixels tall last I checked, so a bit taller than a standard PW unit, next to it is the little green thing, a construction drone, 9 pixels tall, then on the other side of the elevator(which I'm assuming these are because the way the walls are drawn implies such and that would be the only visible way of travel between floors in this station) is a Temple Guard, about 15 pixels tall or so. Looking at this, the drone is the only one of these characters who would even have a chance at fitting through that door, even though the robot is just four pixels taller than standard size.

Hmmm, You make a good point, I'm going to resize the elevators to better accommodate units.
EDIT:
Spoiler: Resized Elevators (click to show/hide)
Your units might have to tuck in their legs to fit the width, but it's certainly tall enough now.
Let me know if you find anything else that's weird so I can fix it.

Yeah, admittedly I suppose I was overreacting a little, the map as a whole is a good size, its just that the elevators sorta mess with the scale of the whole thing by making the units seem proportionally bigger than they actually are.

Alright, declare

A strange pod sent hurtling through space crashes into one of the rooms on the upper levels of the station, causing the air in the room to rapidly vent out into space.
(I'm assuming that's glass since it's color is different from the stuff in the lower levels that look distinctly like docking bays which I'm assuming are energy barriers.)

Declare.

The interlocker drone lands on one of the station's external laser turrets. It begins tearing pieces of metal from the turret.

Hello there, I hope nobody minds me crashing this game. Picture wars on the freeforums site is pretty slow and I started lurking around here to see what was up.

A bulky transport approaches the installation at high speed, aiming itself at the wider of the two docking platforms. The ship is too large to enter all the way in the hangar and the bow only just pierces into the force-field that keeps the chamber pressurized. As the storm raven collides with the airlock's outer frame, a perceptible tremor can be felt throughout the station. Those within earshot and not in the vacuum of space can likely hear the sound of metal scraping along the hangar deck and the rumble of the drop-ship's main engine which continues to burn and push against the energy barrier. The frontal assault ramp swings open, and a four man team of Skitarii rangers disembark into the empty room.
