Food flavors and flavor preferences
« on: April 18, 2018, 11:57:23 am »

This would be implemented with a tag called [FLAVOR].

It would be placed next to [EDIBLE] tags, eg. for watermelons:
Code: [Select]
[USE_MATERIAL_TEMPLATE:FRUIT:FRUIT_TEMPLATE]
[STATE_COLOR:ALL:GREEN]
[DISPLAY_COLOR:2:0:0]
[EDIBLE_VERMIN]
[EDIBLE_RAW]
[EDIBLE_COOKED]
                [FLAVOR:SWEET]
[STOCKPILE_PLANT_GROWTH]

A dwarf would like a certain flavor and they would dislike a second flavor. They would get a happy thought from eating a flavor he/she likes and unhappy thoughts from eating a disliked flavor.

Some flavors could be:

  • Sweet
  • Savory
  • Salty
  • Dry
  • Bitter
  • Spicy
  • Sour

The flavor of prepared meals should depend on which ingredients make the most of the meal, for example, if dwarven biscuits have 3 chicken meat (which are savory) and 4 plump helmets (which could be dry?), the flavor would be dry.

Didn't you already make a thread including flavor tags back in February?

Reading his name would trigger it. Thinking of him would trigger it. No other circumstances would trigger it- it was strictly related to the concept of Bill Clinton entering the conscious mind.

A wizard has turned you into a wagon. This was inevitable (Y/y)?

It appears so, do I have to delete this one?
