Yes right there.
Tbh I didn't realise it was next to people when I settled, I saw one of the blocked hexes nearby, thought maybe it was just an unhosiptable region. I dont think there is a way to restart and pick another spot? Although looking around Europe I see it is equally crowded - Im wondering if those a pre game allies or just blunders like mine. "Socialist Internationale comrades", you mean a group of friends of yours?

There are a couple alliances that got 'set up' (currently the alliance function in-game isn't working) pregame through the discord. The SI is one of them, and is the one I joined earlier today. I haven't been able to tell if the other alliances that seemed to be setting up actually settled in decent quantities though.

Edit: Here is the land claim map that the neutral "League" has made. Notice how massive some of these are, I have significant doubts that most of these factions will be able to enforce their claims.

Oh sweet jeus, game hasnt even started yet and no one has one troop and they are already busy laying claim to whole continents/worldwide..

Do you know if there is a way to delete a city/account before game actually starts?
There is little point me playing this setup if these 4 guys are already teamed along with others, I am basically piggy in the middle of 4 of them. Either I block some of them or they block me into a little area, and clearly that wont work out good. I can make a new account right away of course, & settle somewhere with more room,  but I don't really want to leave dead/inactive city before game has even started.. its bad form. Any info on this? Any policy on inactive cities etc.

Edit: Can't even see any "account setting" page on this UI.

From my understanding all countries will be reset when the beta (which this is) is over in a month. Apparently there is some way to set up multiple nations (for the beta only) but I'm not sure how. I wouldn't worry about SI too much though, we're hated by most of the other factions*, so if ever a war comes our way you'll probably get the chance to join in the curb stomping of Socialism.

There is a lot of unknowns and speculation at this point, but I can garentee that some of the more densely packed power blocks will remove those that are not apart of them. On the other hand, the dev did mention last time when the game was running that a defeated player can still cause problems for whoever occupied their land.

Lotta things you can fiddle with... and absolutely no explanation at all.

Also, that disco link doesn't work.

EDIT: Personally, I prefer there be a 1 chance to move thing, so that you arn't forced to play guerrilla warfare or auto-join the friendly-till-you-disagree neighbors.

Does the discord link not work? How about this one? If that one also doesn't work, try signing out and clicking the discord link on the front page thing. It's about the only place to get information right now as far as I can tell.

Oh, definitely. I got really lucky that the communist/far-left alliance is based in Sub-saharan Africa because I made the PRC before I even looked. It probably also needs a way to see nations when selecting where to settle.

Ah, only one month is it.. Guess that is not so bad, I'll put my defiant cap on & see how this shapes up. Do you know what sort of pace the game runs at - One game year per day or something?

Yeah, the timescale is supposed to be 1 day=1 year. We won't see for sure though until tomorrow, as apparently they've got stuff preventing them from activating the world as of right now. I would advise starting to train military now, even if it's just crappy infantry, just to make the more 'active' revolutionaries think twice before doing anything.

Signed up for this, have no idea what I'm doing. Playing as England in (you guessed it) England, hopefully far away from the imperialist gazes of those alliances.

So I just started playing this game and I accidentally nuked the moon.

Vandeland has sent military research treaties to the nations named in this thread.

Also, I've no clue if I'm massively underspending, overspending, or what, but I started training some soldiers and building some vehicles, cos several more people have now settled Madagascar.  Also a couple of spy cells.

Anyone from here playing in south america, per chance? I'm Amazonia, generally non-aggresive banana republic (no bananas in the game yet :( ) that wants some allies in this scary blob of apparent militarists.  ;D
There are some (probably) weird troops training lenghts. Expert heavy machine gunners? 700+ days. Expert snipers? 288 days. At least novice firing squad trains 18 days, which is alright.  ;D
Also.

Those guys in Korea really look like an ally blob.

It seem we're (almost) neighbours, then. The Kingdom of Puerto Rico welcomes you and extends its hands in friendship :)

Although I still have absolutely no clue how this game is actually played.

Most of that area, including japan and the eastern coast of russia is an alliance from another game.(More specifically the black knights from Politics & War)

Although I still have absolutely no clue how this game is actually played.
To be fair...when I was playing with the previous iteration, I found far more broken parts then things that actually worked. This time around, we can actually build military units...but I'm suspicious about the functionality of it.
