Though, like, I really don't see the issue. Like if I was playing as the Arboni, they would have 1 planet, nukes, and space travel. That... is what is acceptable by the game correct? So whats the problem with them having them nuke themselves and playing as their slaves?
Because you mentioned the Arboni having ruled a space empire - you mentioned ruling thousands of systems from their homeplanet, iirc.

*Shrug* That's the problem? That's litterally just fluff for a dead race. They can call a bunch of empty planets an empire, but that's really not the point, nor does it matter now.

A key feature of the setting here is that there are no precursors. There are no ruins to discover, no ancient technology to reactivate, no stories of past empires. These are the first space-faring races in this galaxy ever.
As I understand it.

exactly what Nuke said. The idea is that this galaxy has seen no previous sentient life. Some may have evolved simultaneously next to each other as in several cases of other peoples empires but thats about it, they were not much more advanced than the rest of them. Just roll with it and adapt your app and you are in with the next update.

Yes. So a race which only has stuff on their one planet/solar system is by no means a problem. So there's not a problem. This has been misinterpreted and blown way out of proportion. The race in the backstory had one planet, and had just discovered space travel (like literally every other race here). They started at the same time as everyone else, and just so happened to be overthrown by their creations in a civil war after discovering space travel (again, same time as everyone else).

Say all the races discover space travel at the year 2741. The race in the backstory discovers space travel at 2741. It jut so happens that in 2746 or something, their slaves rise up and take control. Its not that theres this ancient race looming out in the nethers of the galaxy, its that the master race was supposed to be just like everyone else, but then fucked up. I repeat: misinterpreted and blown out of proportion.

So... New sheets are a yes or a no? Because what was said earlier here is giving me mixed messages...unless all of that was just because Rob got the last spot.

Rob got the last spot for this cycle. Next cycle places are redistributed anew. So for now no new apps.

Spiritualist and Materialist are incompatible ethics in the source material. So, one or the other unless Ghaz waives this

My guys are spiritualist materialists, though that is partially due to having two distinct cultures within the civ.

Yep, as ever, I bestow upon Glass the expected +1
I'm gonna say we go with whatever Glass's idea is.

We're bending Stellaris rules a bit, considering we can start with 4 base ethics or a fanatic ethic and 2 base ones here, so...
