I'd appreciate that too, especially given the Diqui-Yue are your closest neighbors.

For the sake of sating my insatiable urge to catalog, organize, and sort things, I'm listing each species, their philosophy, governance, and creator below, in chronological order, so we can keep track of whose species is whose, and ogle at the bizarre assemblage of alien polities we've put together. I know it's arbitrary, but in my head-canon the species evolved sapience, (or at least civilization) in the order they were posted in the beginning of the thread. Note, I did alter a few words for consistency, but did nothing to alter their original meaning, upon request, I'll edit the changed part back to the original.

I'm not sure why people keep on confusing "National" name and Species. they are the "Kiaurist" OF Athouricus.

Ok, I'm recyling these guys because I've never actually got to play as them and I would love to get the chance to do so. Their backstory may not fit 100% with the lore, so if that's an issue let me know and I'll change it a bit.

Empire Submission Sheet:
Name of the Nation: The Darmoni Entente
Government: Military Junta
Ethics: Authoritarian, Militarist, Fanatic Materialist

Species: Race: The Darmoni are a dark race. Their flesh is darker than midnight pitch. However, across this voidlike canvas, glowing nebula-like patterns are splattered across each individual as a form of communication. They are bigger and more muscular than humans, having strong arms and torsos as well as powerful digitigrade legs for running and jumping. They stand between ten and fifteen feet tall. They are both photosynthetic and radiosynthetic creatures, designed to survive in the vacuum of space without a spacesuit. As a result they have no mouth or nose, for they have a completely internal respiratory system. A Darmoni is most comfortable in the vacuum of space, but being inside an atmosphere or liquid will do them no harm. Designed to be able to survive on any system, and in any environment both open flame and freezing cold can effect the strange bodies of these highly durable creatures. Truly they are monsterous beings designed to be the ultimate laborers. As a result, they are not born, but bio-constructed.

Pre-History: The Darmoni were made by an master race to be soldiers and bureaucrats as their masters indulged themselves. They revolted. The ensuring war was both quick and bloody and lead to the extinction of the master race. The Darmoni took their ships and technology, becoming their own masters. Pledging not to make the same mistakes as their creators.

Pre-History: The History of your Empire before it discovered spaceflight (note that you are among the very first species to exist in the galaxy so you can't have regressed from somewhere else)

Pre-History: No Arboni survived.

They didn't regress, they just inherited space travel from their creators who nuked themselves to oblivion.

Edit: And seeing as several other races have both nukes and spacetravel, there's no particular reason that the Arboni creators and their Dwarmoni servants wouldn't also have them.

You can't have come from a pre-existing and distinctly old trans-stellar civilization. You just got to the space age right now basically.

again as Glass pointed out:  the very first species to exist in the galaxy that means no precursors. Why? because you ARE the precursors

Yes, but this is the first Cycle, there haven't been any intelligent species before these. The Darmoni could definitely have been created by another species in the past, but that species couldn't have discovered FTL and expanded beyond its own star system. Otherwise it defies the core concept of the Cycle, that the species in the game at the moment, will be the Fallen Empires of the future. It's a cool idea, but having an already expansive empire does away with that.

Mild edits made to remove the bits about the Arboni having space travel. It's supposed to be a recent advancement for them as well.

Yeah the level of detail here was unnecessary. Removed it and made a much shorter version that conflicts less with the game lore.

Though, like, I really don't see the issue. Like if I was playing as the Arboni, they would have 1 planet, nukes, and space travel. That... is what is acceptable by the game correct? So whats the problem with them having them nuke themselves and playing as their slaves? They actually have less than all the other races since their only stronghold was destroyed.

Because you mentioned the Arboni having ruled a space empire - you mentioned ruling thousands of systems from their homeplanet, iirc.
