My enjoyment of Oblivion has increased like 500x since I learned how important blocking is compared to Skyrim. It seems like a lot of Skyrim's enemies have magic or breath attacks, but Oblivion enemies use weapons about as often as spells.

Been playing a shitload of Killing Floor 2 with friends. Went _60_ waves on Endless mode the other day at Hard difficulty. That's almost 5 straight hours of Killing Floor. My mind is full of fuck and MABASPLOOM!

Also playing a fair amount of 7 Days To Die. It may be an incredibly poorly optimized "adult" Minecraft, but damn it, I enjoy it.

Also playing Monster Hunter World. I really want to play more of it than is healthy for me, but it keeps getting sidelined in favor of other coop games with my friends. I get a couple hunts done a night. Just tried to do the "Steal Wyvern Eggs" quest in the Ancient Forest and it was, to be frank, incredibly fucking cool. Just getting to the Wyvern nest was an adventure in and of itself.

Celeste. This game's tough shit, but I'm far more tougher, and I'll complete it... eventually. But seriously, it's a great platformer; I love it, just like a masochist loves a good punch to the genitals.

Actually played Pac-Man 2 a few days ago, but forgot to mention it.  That was a weird trip down memory lane.

I remembered the game being incredibly obtuse and hard as a kid.  The paraglider segment in particular was almost too hard for me to complete, and I only remember beating it once.

I managed to beat the whole game in about two hours this time though.  Surprisingly easy, all things said, although I had to look up the code for the ghost door since apparently it's printed in the game's manual, which I do not own...

After a promising beginning once I started to "get" it, I'm starting to not have fun with Ultima IV. The combats are getting too tough or at least tedious, the shops that sell reagents are too far away from where I need them, I only seem to find moongates when and where they're least needed, and the inability to attack diagonally while my enemies totally can is starting to annoy me.

Hee, I grew up watching my Dad play Ultima 4 on the C64.  I have fond memories of it.

It's definitely a cool game full of interesting ideas; in a lot of ways it reminds me of games like KOTOR or even Undertale where every action is a moral choice and says something about your character, rather than just driven by gameplay mechanics. I just don't have the patience or the nostalgia factor to get very far in one session without getting bored, because after all it is a pretty simple game mostly based around exploration and resource upkeep.

Yeah, I don't expect a 30 year old game to hold up very well, I'd probably get annoyed with it these days too.  At the time it was pretty amazing having such a big open world with so much content in it.   :)

Else Heart.Break()

Knew nothing about coding, got slapped in the face with the biggest red herring I've ever experienced in a game, and then spent far too much time figuring out how to do insane things which turned out to be utterly pointless because the game abandoned plot and AI to make a sandbox game. Still recommend it though. The less spoilers the better.

Half-Life
Always wanted to play it and I managed to get it cheap at goodwill so I've been playing it, I'm liking it so far, but for some reason there aren't any check points even at the start of new chapters so I have to save every now and then to avoid losing lots of progress when I die.

Almost completed Call of Juarez on normal.

I kind of wish there was more of Ray’s gameplay, but the story is satisfying and it’s nearing its close anyway, so I guess it’s fine.

playing rimworld

wow, sometimes, this game. i had a few people down with plague when some mech lancers dropped right on our greenhouse. someone was inside harvesting some plants when it happened, Megascarab who was a tender and a former bandit who joined our town willingly after being talked to by our designated leader Mason. she fit right in and they became very close but not lovers: Mason is married. i activated megascarab and tried getting her out but there wasn't anytime so i got her into cover by the entrance. she got shot dead as everyone who could came to help. i had the town smith, Tara, make a marble sarcophagus.

this is what she made:

Struggle for Mason
The sarcophagus bears an artwork of Mason Mercer chatting with Megascarab Manobia while laughing uproariously. The area is decorated with white and blue. Almost every shape in the image seems to be square. Besides that, the whole image is depicted by the careful arrangement of dozens of huskies. The image tells the story of Mason relaxing with Megascarab at a party on 14th of Aprimay, 5502.

just wow.

Ah yes, the insatiable lust of corn and rice, clearly two of the most erotic foods.

In preparation for Hollow Knight: Silksong, I'm trying to 100% my current playthrough of Hollow Knight. So far, I've collected every Mask shard, every Vessel shard, and all the grubs.
