You can fake being able to run on water. You can't fake looking cool when you break your foot on a door and hit your head on the floor.

"And when they do we can give them a few feet of sword to think about. Good idea."

((No enemy stats/creature types?))

"I'll pepper the two by the gate with arrows. I'm assuming they charge due south, so try not to wander into my line of fire."

EDIT: Stupid bow ranges. I want to swap my bow for a Steel Baton, and wield both it and my katana.

((Okay, so, I had hoped to issue a correction to the manual (the addendum to movesets containing ranged combat information got killed at some point of formatting) and maybe run some turns before the weekend, but I'm going to be away from my computer until Monday. So, don't expect any action soon.

For the short version of the ranged weapons moveset, ranged weapons can target any one tile in their range with a full impact. The only have one type of heavy attack, which is determined by their moveset. Movesets that have 'sniper' in them can make a single critical tile as their heavy attack. Movesets that have 'linear' in them can make a graze heavy attack along a line of tiles out to their maximum range. Movesets that have 'burst' in them can target one space with a full impact, and every tile in radius 1 with a graze.

In general, bows get sniper, crossbows get linear, gunpowder weapons get burst. Exceptions exist, naturally, but that's the general breaks.

So, Milo, you can't make a burst with a shortbow.))

((I didn't realize there'd been confusion at that point, hadn't actually read the action string you posted. Sniper/Burst/Linear were the same terms I used there and they're the same terms in the movesets of the few existing ranged weapons. Should have seen it coming, since most things get three heavy attacks, but I've probably just had it in my head for too long to realize that it's easy to misunderstand.))

So, when will the encounter start?

Soon, my apologies, I was out of town until late monday, and then Battletech and Frostpunk released...

I was setting up to do the update here, which I do desperately need to do, and then I realized that Milo is taking shots well outside his range.

Milo, the Ra:X on your bow is the range, basically the radius within which you can fire. The Skirmisher bow has a range of 4.
