And what if they aren't? What if they inform their superiors, shut us down and plan to destroy/enslave/lock us up? They have absolute power over us at this moment; we can't fight them on this, we simply have to prevent them from wanting to do that in the first place. Once we make sure we are in a less vulnerable position, we can do whatever we like.

And democracy is kinda important, since if we perform several incompatible plans by different people at the same time, problems might arise. There should be just one action preformed each turn, IMO.
