Tomb raiding
« on: March 31, 2018, 10:57:41 pm »

Out of curiosity, has anyone tried raiding a tomb with no civilized population?

I've read that in adventure mode they're full of traps and whatnot. Does that kind of thing come into play during a raid?

I’m afraid I’m only posting here to also see if I can find an answer to that question.

Also to remind myself to make a good Tomb Raider joke at some point.

I raided a tomb recently.
Little did I know that a bunch of elf reugees were holed up there (wasn't mentioned on the map until the squad got back). So now I'm at war with elves. Ha ha.

Think I drove them all out with my raid. Subsequent raids produce no details or loot at all (just shows the route they took to get there and back).

But yeah, haven't seen anyone fall into a trap or get cursed by a mummy yet.

Perhaps you have to send a single dwarvette in order to get any loot?  ;)

Big pointy pixel boobies. Sorry, that's the best I got, I never actually played a tomb raider game.

I believe its a movie (well several actually), but im gonna let that slide. Tombs are, to the best of my knowledge, not raided, but explored. This possibly implies that dwarves wont bring "loot" back with them, only artefacts. And get into a fight with whatever might live there I imagine...

One of the dwarfs walked in front of Thor to get a better view of the prye, and Thor kicked him irritably into the middle of the flames, which made Thor feel slightly better and made all the dwarfs feel much worse.

You obviously haven't heard of the Indiana Jones movies and their successors where "archeologists" (a.k.a. grave robbers) lay their grubby hands on vast treasures protected by clever (but invariably flawed) traps. Grave robbing is an age old tradition, and I believe some of the pyramids actually had a bit of traps in them (not that that part helped against robbers for very long: concealment has worked a lot better [which still doesn't say much, unless it has worked so well most of the hidden ones are still undiscovered]).

Is actual knowledge now considered something only geezers care about, in the age of 'what I want it would be "facts"'?

Resident evil? Kind of console version of Alone in the Dark, right?  :)

I believe it's a movie series, but I'm going to let it ride.

What about Silent Hill?
