You, your two warbands, and your 4 trolls head for the besieged fortress. You detect some wild orc minds trailing you, predatory and hungry for vengeance. You send Bubol with a squad to eliminate them, and maybe take a prisoner. He whoops and runs off to grab his best warriors.

He returns an hour later, throwing a small feral orc bound before you. It snarls and gnashes its teeth at you as you penetrate its mind. Tribal customs, defensive positions, and knowledge of the local landscape fill your mind. You stand suddenly as the feral orc wriggled on the ground.
“I know the way to go now.”

The feral orc’s head was split by a thrown axe, sending it sprawling into the clearing where a small host of its kin had gathered. They leapt to their feet, drawing their weapons as your warbands lead by Bubol charged in. They have the element of surprise, and strike viciously. Bubol hacks one in the chest with his sword, deflects a spear thrust with his ladle, and wrenches his sword free into a fast swing that sends his attacker spinning away.

The battle is soon over, with scores of the feral orcs dead. After picking over the loot, your detachment moves to the siege lines, where your commanders are relieved to hear that you dealt with the ferals skirmishing with their flanks and raiding their supplies. They are also pleased to see your trolls, and quickly make plans to send them charging at and breaking down the gate. You, however, did learn that there is a sally entrance that leads to the storage caverns and outpost from the feral orc you had captured.  It could accommodate a small force. What do you think?

A. Fuck it. Charge the gate with your trolls and your army. You outnumber them and you have trolls.
B. Send your best warriors into the outposts sally port, to open the gates from the inside, then charge in.
C. Something else?


Also I wonder if we upgrade vats enough can we transfer minds of our orcs to newer bodies?
Potentially, though that’d probably take a lot of magic!

Hunter Seeker squads

Most cunning and agile orks are picked out from orkish mass and trained in stealth, tracking, survival, wall climbing, using bow, sling, axe, poison and arson.
Also each individual recieves personal mindscan to better connect him to our scrying and to be sure in their loyalty.

Such squads will provide us with improved scouting( so our troops are not getting in traps )
disrupt enemy by picking patrols or leaders or supress minor insurgencies.
Ork strength is something to fear, smart ork with tactics and proper training is twice as much to fear.


Pretty cool idea, I’ll add it to the research options for the end of turn!

Gort, the other chief, is eager to prove himself to you. Taking his former tribe’s best warband, he enters the sally port.

It doesn’t go well.

You see through his eyes as feral orcs spring out of hiding around them, turning into a desperate melee. Gort duels a feral berserker, their axes clashing against each other. He is too slow, however, and he falls with an axe in his neck. The warband fights grimly on, however the tide is turning and they are being pushed back towards the entrance.

You sigh. The attack through their secret entrance has stalled. What do you do?

A. Fuck it. Charge the gate with your trolls and your army. You outnumber them and you have trolls.
B. Send a few more warbands to the sally entrance.
C. Do both A and B
D. Try to negotiate
E. Something else?

Outpost Assault
(Frontal assault 6) (side assault 6 crit)

Jortha volunteers to lead 2 warbands to force the side entrance. They charge into the hole, and Jortha wields his hammer with terrible power, smashing skulls and breaking bone with every swing. He leads his warriors, carving through the scattered defenders as they fight the separated squads of the initial force. The defenders split off more and more defenders to stop the incursion, but they could hardly slow the vengeful captain and his warbands.

The trolls roar and the largest charges forward. The ground shakes with each thundering step as it lowers its shoulder at the door. Shouts from the top of the outpost reach your ears, and arrows bounce off the trolls hardened hide. With a loud cry it crashed into the door, and with a bang the door falls down.Spears jut out and pierce the troll, but with a bone rattling growl, he snatchs a feral orc and smashes it into a pillar.Your warbands shout and charge in through the opening.

The feral orcs, overwhelmed by the multidirectional attack, are broken. Each feral orc panics and tries to escape. Your warbands capture many, and kill the rest. At the end of the day, you lost 1 warbands worth of orcs, but captured around 2 hundred of the ferals.  They could be decent workers once they become used to the harsh tasks.  A mix of feral and regular orc might produce more effective light troops. You could also use them to power sacrifices, though orcs don’t provide much power for spells. Two of the warbands also got enough points to be considered experienced.

You stand in the top tower, surrounded by filth and waste left by these orcs. But the stone is solid, and there is room for expansion. Once you clean out all of this filth, of course. While exploring the 2nd floor, you sense a strange disturbance. You walk past a wall, walk past it again, and decide that it feels wrong. After a bit more exploring with both your magical and mundane senses, you find a lever and pull it.

You find a small treasure hoard, with a few chests of gold. There was also one magic item. It was. . .

A. An enchanted weapon
B. A piece of enchanted armor
C. A piece of enchanted jewelry.
D. An enchanted trinket.


Also, you should decide if you should continue on with your conquest of the mountains, or consolidate for a turn before attacking the fortress.
A. Attack the goblin fort before they have a chance to make a concerted response.
B. Consolidate for time.
