The chariot is made ready, and you depart for Azuma's manor at once.
---
The meeting at Azuma's hall is a bit awkward right off the bat. Your daughter's table is round, so you cannot sit at the head as custom would dictate, and it is clear that the Goblins are very uncomfortable in your presence. Azuma's guests are rather unimpressive; They are as short as Chestnut Dwarves, but scrawny in their build with loose leathery skin and pointed ears. They all seem to be missing at least a few teeth, and smell strongly of ash. They are dressed in rags made from a rough and uncomfortable looking fabric.
Azuma introduces you to the two Goblin leaders present: Gnoll of the Haunted Canyons, the smith who worked on the stolen staff for Azuma, and his son Chief Pikel, a tribal leader. Neither Goblin offers you much more than something between a slight bow and a curt nod when introduced. They differ little in dress from the less important Goblins present, but they do wear silver broaches in the shape of a bird of prey's claw, and Gnoll's eyes seem to glow a haunting purple.
Dinner is quiet. Azuma serves a roast boar from the forest alongside fresh fruit and nuts. Most of the guests are given plum wine of a fine vintage, but you are served a cocktail of the flower nectars and fruit juices you are familiar with; Clearly Azuma has come to understand that you are not to be trusted with alcohol.
You notice that although the Goblins happily indulge in the wine, they only sample the food before them and don't come anywhere close to cleaning their plates. You also notice that Azuma is quite familiar with one of her acolytes, a large male Chestnut Dwarf who carries a maul made from Mountain Dwarf steel; They hold hands and talk sweetly with one another, making no secret about the romantic nature of their relationship.
Eventually, you decide to break the ice and start talking.
