If you mean when the map's getting updated, it's end of the year (as always now that Cartographers are active).

If you mean when the Cartographers will ask for funds for another expedition, then I dunno. In few years I think.

It has the look of a Dwarven settlement to me. They're usually about that size and the name sounds right (DF dwarven words with suffixes).

How densely populated is the Damdamian Republic? With Parsia under our influence and Cydwyl close to personal union with us we'll be pretty close to them soon in terms of land area, but if I remember right Cydwyl is mostly featureless steppe and Parsia is mostly featureless desert.

There are cities upon cities upon villages upon fortresses in the south and west, the coastal areas always were the Damdamian core lands and their first Republican capital was on the coast too (today's it would be in Spania). North and far east are considered somewhat of a frontier, and the central division lines are slightly less populated also due to decades of fighting between The Empire and The Republic.

Cydwyl would bump it up by a 1, Parsia would not.

The stat is a number proportional for the land or it's something fixed and meaning that if we have a 8 in a large land we have many scattered settlements?

it always made me a bit confused, if it's proportional what would be the difference in-game of having population of 8 in a small land (methiant in the beginning of the game for example) and population of 8 in a giant land (methiant-cydwyll after being united)
