Two things.

Thing one: to give something resembling an answer to roseheart's question, I estimate somewhere between 4 and 8 people in a civilization after 5 turns. Yes, that is my estimate despite the fact that a civilization starts with 5.

And secondly, I re-iterate my previous post stating that things do not exist until the update. There is nothing on square C3. There is nothing on square C4. There is nothing anywhere until the first update occurs that applies the god player's actions. (A big part of this rule is that actions might be edited before they are finalized). I'm going to add this detail to the first post just to make it super official.

I appreciate the enthusiasm though.

The god Snag appears and turns D4 into inhospitable desert.

So civs can't join yet.

Is each turn 1 day? Are these humans, that need almost a year to birth a child?

(Sorry if it seems like I am trolling, I am not. Just thinking as a player AND future host, potentially.)

I'm probably not going to factor in childhood or death by old age in this game.

If you want to learn about Gridhood, you can check out some past Gridhood games. The oldest ones were lost when the MSPA forums were silently obliterated, but you can check out Gridhood Neo or Gridhood Squidhood edition. (Links in the names). I have some fond memories of those Gridhood Games.

Update will probably come in about two hours. I want to stay true to my 24 hour minimum turn time rule despite the fact that the (very) early game can benefit from going a little faster.

Would you say what you are hosting now is "vanilla"? If not, any examples?

I don't think that "Vanilla" is really a thing when it comes to most forum games. They evolve over time to suit the preferences of the GMs that host them. For example, my games tend to look like ugly calculators.

I'll also mention that the forum that the very first Gridhood was created on is no more. If you want to make one of my games your own, I recommend thinking of ways that it could have been better and do it that way.

Turn 1

Spoiler: Tiles (click to show/hide)

Note to players who attempted to start a civilization: As I explained in my other posts, things do not exist until a turn starts that includes them. For your convenience, your previous post will be automatically processed with the next update if you do not wish to make any changes. Automatic things like this will not be a regular occurrence.

The gods descend upon the world, and the void begins to recede. In the northwest corner of the world some grasslands are formed. A mountain and a desert come into being nearby. The world looks as though it could comfortably handle a single small tribe of mortals as it is now...

Spoiler: Gods (click to show/hide)

You left out crazyabe's J10 grassland and Snag in the spoiler list :P

Anyway, Snag extends the desert northward to D3.

Well, people still host 'vanilla mafia', for example.

A new civilization is founded!
The Nirii Dominion has a slateblue flag, and hails Seethrii as its capital (on C3).
It worships
Forknor as the first, and the greatest, amongst all the gods!

Moved forward for GM convenience.

Most of the gods are bloodthirsty maniacs who want us all to fight to the last child.

He creates a desert in D2.

An error was detected in the turn 1 update, which has now been corrected.

I would prefer it if you use bold text for your actions, and only use bold text in one of your posts. This will help cut back on GM confusion.
