above ground animal people tribes?
« on: March 26, 2018, 08:20:42 am »

i think it would be a interesting addition to the game.
they are marked on the map with a * symbol.
the color of the camps symbol shows if the tribe is aggressive or not
if the color of the * symbol is red that means the tribe is aggressive.
if the color of the * symbol is blue that means the tribe is friendly.
the animal people tribes trade with fortresses during spring or summer. the items they offer are usually wooden items, plants, hides, and blowguns and darts.

Aggressive to whom?
Aggression and such should, as with all other civs, be a result of history, politics and ethics. Not set in stone.

But animal-person tribes is a good idea. I play with a bunch of tribes I added myself. It mixes things up nicely. I think mythgen is meant to define animal people more clearly. Possibly it might happen then.

Animal-people are friends with elves. Maybe a large portion of them should turn hostile if you declare war on elves, and possibly help them in sieges.

When more diplomacy options are in i think having them appear in non-permanent camps would be nice, so they can inhabit wilderness places out of the way of civilizations and in little variable personality & ethic groups play out their little isolated existances, emigrating to nearby elves  and civs they like when applicable.

Send a few dwarves over there to establish contact as a mission, if it goes poorly and your dwarves are both killed and eaten you have a good excuse to repel possibilities of hostile sieges coming your way and destroy the site. If it goes well you might make some important trade deals & have the occasional wandering visitor arrive to later petition to join your fortress.

Wild animal-people are. But the ones who gather together, build wooden huts and carve sticks into spears? Possibly less so.

Then this suggestion should be expanded to also include a description of these because "semi-civilized" animal-people do not exist right now.

That's what this suggestion is, isn't it? Tribes of animal-men who gather and make camps together. The kind that don't exist right now.

It's about raiding and caravans. Perhaps @JadeToad will expand it.

Raiding and caravans require camps (as JadeToad already said) of animal people. They don't exist right now so we're discussing a new addition to the game. Animal person tribes.

OK then. I'll also suggest something. When Myth comes around and you gen a "normal" world, animal people should focus on nature-focused magic. Perhaps talking to normal animals?
