Fair. Part of what really convinces me though... Is that Brian's specialty is practical design. He works better when doing things other than just flat research, where his intellect isn't used to his full potential.

So I think I'll change my vote, for now.

The problem is, has anyone actually specified a gameplay purpose behind the supercomputer? So far, no one has actually said anything about what it does, and that confuses me. As well as this, a supercomputer is going to take more money and favors out of us than what's wise right now. It'll backlog the progress of the cerebral enhancer even further.

At least the metahuman physiology research will mostly cost favors, rather than money, and it'll open up entire avenues for us in anti-hero weaponry.

Not everything is meant to instantly have effect. Most likely, it will maybe give us a passive bonus, but more importantly open up the gateways to plenty of other useful applications, such as a fully autonomous defense grid for our base to name one example.

But why make it sentient?

Makes it that much resistant to being hacked. You wander into cyberspace against an AI, you're fighting it on it's home territory.

But what's to prevent the AI from deciding that it likes Heroism more? Or that all humans should be eliminated?

See, you get it. If this project fails, we straight-up give the heroes a decently powerful recruit. Far too risky. This is like Ultron accidentally creating Vision.

right because it's not like it can download itself into an android body or anything like that

Where's it going to get an android body from though?

More to the point, if we educate it well and actually nurture it, it'll be a hell of a lot more willing to follow us and do so with pretty good loyalty to boot.

Not if the project fails miserably before we get the chance to. I'm just saying, the risks here are tremendous, and the resources are going to take away from the CE.

And it could build an android body. It's a supercomputer, it can hack into robotics factories. Just saying.

It can only do it it if has a connection to the robotics factory, the machinery is able to manufacture the parts and it's able to get materials deliveries to the plant. And possibly having several factories to manufacture all the components as well.

Simply put, it's going to be pretty far-fetched to have it build a body and run off.

And while it's risky, we're team villain. We aren't meant to be the team being shy about risks when it comes to projects :P

Indeed! If it hacks a robotics lab while we aren't looking, more power to it.

I just think an ultron is kinda lame. I mean I guess it'd have some good impact if the heroes went with John, since he'd be using and researching gadgets and an Ultron-type of character would be able to hack into those and counter them, but it's not much use if they went with P-Man. Plus, I was thinking it would make more sense if we went with the whole Norman Osborn, Avengers Academy type of setup.

I guess if we got a supercomputer, that'd be a good start to make a Metallo type of character. Plus, a malicious A.I is kinda fun. I still prefer my idea, though
