I need a replacement for the Mike Mayday tile set
« on: March 15, 2018, 05:19:41 pm »

I'm R/G color vision deficient. I really like the Mike mayday tile set for my vision problems.

Sadly it looks like Mike has stopped updating his tile set, I've been playing DF 2014 for a while because of this,.
Could you guys suggest some good tile sets?
They dont have to be specifically for color blind players but that would help.

I only play legends mode

I also play on the longest history setting for hard mode.

I had trouble with this at first too. First two times I played Dwarf Fortress I downloaded the "latest version" from the forum thread and proceeded to play a game with corrupted raw objects. Fortunately there's updated version of most of the more popular long-standing packs.

Updated Mayday can be found here: https://github.com/DFgraphics/Mayday

Other updated graphics packs can be found here: https://github.com/DFgraphics

By default this version of Mayday is setup to look well for users without Text Will Be Text (graphics plugin for DFHack). But there's some optional components you can install that add some cool graphics features for Text Will Be Text users.

Edit: You know the color palettes are stored in /data/init/colors.txt, right? You can change the color palette to whatever you want or copy the Mayday color palette into another graphics pack. There's a couple color palettes designed especially for color blind people on the wiki color scheme page: http://www.dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/DF2014:Color_scheme#CowThing.27s_color_schemes
