I vote for collapsing the fortress and leaving a few non-insane survivors to restart. :P

Given that I killed the human law-giver and his escorts, we've probably pissed off the humans enough for them to declare war.

We have only 18 dwarfs who are below 0 on the stress count, and most of those are military.

Cave adaptation should be greatly reduced now, thanks to most dwarfs going to the surface to gather plants, build the cemetery, or haul corpse bits.

Speaking of corpse bits, the third floor of the cemetery is not full yet.  That means that dwarfs are going to continue hauling corpses to it and being horrified.  Anyone you don't want going insane should probably be kept from hauling the corpses.

We have a few dead citizens who have still not been buried.  There are plenty of open coffins, so apparently everyone just "hasn't gotten to it yet".  Either that, or the corpses were destroyed somehow.  Actually, one was destroyed accidentally when they stepped on a bridge just as it closed, the bloody idiot.  On top of that, it was a militiadwarf, light blue.

Now that I mention bridges, DO NOT LOWER THE INNER DEPOT BRIDGE YET.  Someone destroyed the depot, and some very nice goods were strewn under the bridge.  Keep an eye on that.

As for the levers, they all have [N]otes on them, except for the two mystery levers to the south of the main lever bank.  They're apparently connected to something, but I have no idea what.  Most of the levers also have custom names now, as well, to help identify them at a quick glance.

Maybe we should wait for the next release? It seems to me that Toady is close to finish it.

Otherwise, I'll play during the week.

I second this. Quite a few fixes coming in with the latest patch, so it seems like the best idea to me.

I've heard your pleas! And sure. If it doesn't take too long that is.

Great, then I'll start immediately after the release.

Meanwhile, maybe I'll look through this hell and try to plan my actions.

I'm pretty surprised things went to shit so quickly after my turn, I played version 44.10 the whole year through and didn't have any tantrums.
I guess this what what happens when nobody gets their lifetime rations of pet buns.

It took a while for the stresses to build up to the levels where they now sit, and the corpse pile downstairs caused most of the initial problems.  By itself, it would have probably taken a while longer before we started seeing dwarfs snapping, but I had the right brilliant idea to start messing with all of the other corpses around the map.

I recommend removing the third-floor corpse stockpile and focusing on getting a lot of stress relief inside the fortress proper.  The whole thing can seal up, tight as a drum, so you can just wait through any sieges.  Of course, you'll probably lose all the other animals that are outside.

Edit:  Speaking of sealing up, the "invasion hallway" is probably still sealed.  The lever that controls the gate over the top of that entrance is labelled "Siege Entrance", so pull that if you want that hallway to be open.

The upper section of the barracks is probably the weakest point, as there's only one gate on that path from the outside into the fortress - all other paths have two gates across them.
