Antioch sighs. I just thought using this knife would be more dramatic, but cutting myself with it sounds like inviting trouble. I guess I'll settle for using that other knife instead.

"...I recommend you to not use that knife for now. It's an artifact, a weapon infused with power. You could have blown your arm off and stained my suit."

Russel would check the unreasonable idea by asking
" Was robbers demise your doing ? " In ancient egyptian.
Then sign the book.

Nyarlathotep nods to Russel then answers.
"It's up to you to figure out why. Unlike my siblings, I have lived among humans for a long time. I just so happened to be close by when the event happened and decided to interfere."

"I'll grant that we were not meant to know about your kind, but even in the early Genesis of some religions, people were getting into trouble with forbidden knowledge. That said, it seems ironic for me, uninvolved as I was beforehand, to be talking to you now on such a subject."

"I hope this goes quickly then. I'd like to resume a somewhat normal life after all this is sorted out. Immortality is nice and all, but it doesn't exactly allow for dating normal people. Of course, given that immortality is involved in the first place, I suspect we're going to be at this for a while, arn't we..?"

Antioch sighs. I just thought using this knife would be more dramatic, but cutting myself with it sounds like inviting trouble. I guess I'll settle for using that other knife instead.
"yeah, I would appreciate you not using my blood as your inkwell. It's uncomfortable enough as it stands. Besides, it's just a small cut in the dreamlands. Even if it carries over to the real world, we can just bandage it up!"

At first, it was restrained. I just assumed they wanted to show off their powers and I just didn't give it importance. I continued to mess with humans by traveling to cities and bringing advanced technology to confuse them. I loved to cause chaos between them. Nowdays, entire countries are under the control of the gods. I would have done something, but we have an agreement between the gods that prohibite us from directly going against each other to avoid divine wars. We have to rely on followers and servants to fight our conflicts in many other planets. Right now, "King" Hastur is hunting my followers down with his crusaders."

"You would only see your loved ones slowly age and die. While I will allow you to have a relationship with one or more humans, I strongly advise against it. You can't have a mortal life with an immortal mind."

(Turn in about 3-5 hours. Please be patient!)

Immortality like that would be even more game breaking than four Aaron's in one place.
You're both so obviously scum that this is a surprisingly difficult decision.

"Entire countries? wh- how? How is that even possible without someone on our plane taking action? Surely some of the populace in them would object to it, if not other countries!"

"Crusaders? Should I be worried about that, given our situation?"

"I'm not too terribly worried about relationships. I'm not exactly prone to going to social gatherings and this is something of an unexpected exception. I would hope to eventually meet someone that I can relate with, even if it isn't exactly human.
Still, I'll have all the time in the world to think about that, Right? No need to rush it, especially since there's the distinct possibility that I'll end up meeting or watching my great grandchildren if I do. That'll take far too much explaining for my taste."

(I'm sorry, but philosophical and theoretical discussion roleplay is too tempting for me.)

"It may be hard to believe, but many of the human leaders, politicians, celebrities and many more are either already part of a cult or under their direct control. You have no idea how easy is for an undercover organization armed with the forbidden knowledge of gods to take over an entire country. Just enslave some of their leaders, reemplace the others with exact clones and get rid of the evidence. It's easy in a world where "magic isn't real", or at least that's what TV says. If no one can prove or make sense of something, everyone just moves on and tries to forget it."

"Regarding the followers of Hastur, it's just a bunch of cultist with silly yellow robes. They are at war with the Mi-Go, my main servants. They wouldn't attack this group just because of those two."

While saying those last words, he points at Nathaniel and Josephi

"Congratulations! A dude in a yellow bath robe with king complex wants both of you as his vassals! I swear, this guy has an obsession with anything yellow."

"Yeah, all the time in the world to think things. At least until it ends. Which could be very, very soon."

Assuming, that dark pharaoph scripture is truth, our whole gyptology is somewhat wrong?

And, well, is even our beloved America infiltrated by
this yellow robed gent ?

He wants me as his vassal? Does that mean those cults you mentioned won't kill me?

"Yes, but some stuff gets past the radar sometimes. I was almost certain I completely deleted from history the 200 years I ruled Egypt."

"Ahhh, I miss the old days. Well, it was good while it lasted."

"Death? Heh, you will have a fate far worse. As Hastur's target, you will get the chance to share minds with the yellow fool. I once saw the Yellow Sign by accident. Had to endure his rants about why the color yellow is perfect until I deleted it from my mind."

Turn 4: Who Wants to Live Forever?

Josephi peers over at the book, with a slightly bemused expression on his face.

"Vell, zis is certainly strangest dream I have in long time. Vy not."

Sign book

[5] - You quickly take the knife first, draw some of your blood and sign the book without a sweat.

Джозефи Краковски

For a moment, you feel empty, but the feeling quickly subsides. Nyarlathotep praises your lack of dobut.

Mallo would realise he messed up what he meant while talking to them, and try to explain to the chaos in more detail.
"it's a figure of speech sir, I don't actually think you are a celebrity. It's just that someing so... So alien and powerful is incredibly hard to forget about. Come to think of that, don't celebrities gain a bit of that from separating themselves from the 'normal' people?" He would go quiet as Nyarlathotep launched into explanation as to why they are here, before chiming in at the end while signing.

"If anything, that may be why they want to seek out information regarding you and The Old ones. Your kind are an mystery, wrapped in enigma and command power beyond what any celebrity could hold.

If it's alright with you, I would like to forget about having met you here. I would rather not add to the problem futher since I am going to help you.."

cut my wrist just enough to bleed, then use the knife like a crude quill to sign my name, careful as not to damage the book. Speaking of books, figure out where that "liber ivonis" book went. I thought I had it under my arm..

[5] - As you take the knife, you recall leaving it on the table before following Nyarlathotep to this room. You cut your wrist and write your name in the tome.

Mallo Brekson

You feel weird, as if you had just lost something. You try to not think about it. Also, you notice Ryan holding your lost book.

Draw the ritual knife, dip it in Mallo's already-welling blood (after all, why be wasteful?), and sign my name with it.

[1] - Nyarlathotep convinces you to cut your wrist. A lot of blood comes out and your hands shake too much to make a proper signature.

ANTIOCH

...It looks ugly as hell. Your pride is critically damaged.

Work up the nerve to cut myself and sign the book.

Sign the book if I can.

[1] - Same thing as Antioch. You barely manage to cut your wrist and write your name.

NATHANIEL

You feel sick, like if you are about to faint.

This will probably be useful

Take the tome

I don't know if I really believe you, but I don't see any other option

Take the knife from Antioch and sign the book

[5] - You took the tome with you. When you are requested to sign with your own blood, you take the knife from the pale man and write your name with your own blood.

Ryan Martin

You feel weird, as if a ghost just went through your whole body. You decide to not think too hard about it.

Russel would check the unreasonable idea by asking
" Was robbers demise your doing ? " In ancient egyptian.
Then sign the book.

[3] - You are the last one. You barely manage to not cut a finger off and you successfully sign the book.

John Russel

It's not fancy, but it'll work.

Once everyone has signed, Nyarlathotep takes the huge book and (somehow) puts it in his pocket. Through one of the windows, sunlight is starting to illuminate the room.

"It's getting quite late. And by that, I mean that it's going to be morning soon. We have little time before everyone wakes up in the Earth. I have made sure that some of my servants take your sleeping bodies to a safe house near the first target. Your mission will be explained later. Anyone has any questions before sunrise?"

"Too bad! Hahahaha..."

Everyone wakes up...

You are currently in an old, but fancy bed wearing some generic white pajamas. You quickly check your surroundings and notice an open window. It's morning outside. The walls are aged and the furniture is old. You wander around the room and quickly find your clothes.

They are stained with blood.

You also realize there is something in your pocket that you don't remember having before.

[hidden][+?]

Josephi find a pair of strange, black coins. He also finds a strange, golden talisman with an odd symbol incribed on it.
Mallo find his crazily angled stone, but nothing else.
John Russel find a single strange coin.
Antioch find his dark ritual knife. It's still huming with power.
Ryan Martin finds his arcane tome, but nothing else.
Nathaniel finds a pair of strange coins. He also finds a strange, golden talisman with an odd symbol incribed on it.

After changing their clothes, everyone exits through the door of their room and reunite with everyone else in the hallway.

There is a lot of stuff to talk about.

(You are free to do anything until the messager from Nyarlathotep explains the details of the mission or someone finds a clue.)

"well, there goes my soul. Ugh, that is an unpleasant sensation.. Hey Ryan, I was reading that book you got. You mind sharing it, and doing some research on it together when we get a chance?"
Start trying to figure out where we are. It won't do for me to be lost.

Hey, I found these odd coins and this strange talisman. Does anyone else have anything that they don't remember having?
Try to interpret the Odd Symbol. I have knowledge of runes, so it shouldn't be too hard.

((Oh look, the Yellow Sign. At least, I think it's the Yellow Sign. Probably.))

"I am also having ze strange coins and talisman."

Carefully study the Odd Symbol and coins.

Everyone sees both Nathaniel and Josephi cover their ears in pain and notice their eye color changing to yellow for a moment.

(I decided to make this a free action. Now Hastur is inside both of their minds and will comment on almost everything they do.)

"yeah, if that's what I think it was, I think both of you should stay off camera and away from computers and smartphones. If it bothered... Him, it will probably be worse for you guys, and we don't need it spreading across the world at the speed of light. Actually, now that I think about it, How the hell has it not gone global as a cognitohazard? If what they said was right, then this goddamn thing has the potential to destroy everything simply by being exposed to it. Keep it away from us!"

Ow. That hurt a lot. Does anyone else have anything?

Mallo, I think the only reason that happened is that this Yellow King has chosen us. If you want to test that you could give it a look, as he didn't choose you.
