I don't know what the base looks like, how many people operate with Delta Green, any NPC's that can help flesh out the room, what the time/date is, where in the world the head quarters is, how secretive the organization is, what our resources are, who runs things, how long we've been operating, what the uniforms look like, or...anything. There is literally nothing to go off of, and I'm hesitant to write anything because it may later be inconvenient for the story. There's just too much empty space for me to start filling in the blanks.
"James Jefferson Lewis, commonly referred to as JJ by his comrades, was polishing the windshield of his helicopter - "
"Ah, you don't actually have a helicopter, Delta Green can't afford it."
"- polishing the windshield of his convertible with the Delta Green logo emblazoned on the hood - "
"The DG logo is too well-known, and it would attract attention. Sorry."
" - polishing his glasses. He then went into the next room to give a pep-talk to his squad of thirty crack anti-cult DG elite soldiers - "
"Sorry, again. DG doesn't have that many people working for them, most of the squad is just you four."
" - to give a pep-talk to the four other members of the DG team. 'Alright guys', he said, 'Commander Jennifer Alstien has given us our next mission - '"
"Actually, the leader of DG is called the 'Director', and it's a man, you know, since it's still the 1970's and women's rights haven't kicked in."
" - Director John Fockmor - "
"I'd prefer if his name wasn't a play on a swear word."
" - Director John Johnson has given us our next mission. It's in the Himalayain mountains - "
"Actually, I kinda had the starting mission to be planned in New Mexico, if you don't mind fixing that."
" - It's in New Mexico. I will refrain from giving any details. Now, until then, let's chat a bit, since we've all worked together for years and have had many adventures together and yet I know nothing about any of you aside from a couple sentences of backstory."
I don't even know how or when the game starts. Should we all be at base for the game to start? Are we currently on a mission? I'm just torn between my piece being perfectly nonoffenseive and bland vs stepping on the GM's toes.
