ELECTION OVER

We now have our two, first, OFFICIAL lords of Marga. A big day indeed. (The Jesters guild was a little too tiny to put together a celebration in time, so it will just be a bunch of cheering and clapping from the rabble this time.)

Lord (2 spots)
Glass | 3 |  Glass, roseheart, Rockeater
UristMcChladni | 1 | UristMcChladni

Now we will choose the official town flag. There were two submissions and more are welcome up until March 10th. (have them in by the 9th, or earlier for time to get some votes)

Maximum Spin 1

roseheart 1

Stay abreast of other ballot decisions in the coming days.

GUILDMASTERS
In a week I would like to decide the basic requirements for a Guild thread. Up until then I welcome you to experiment as you have done, with only a few necessities addressed atleast.

-It must be clear to guildmembers what jobs they can do in the IC thread. (If there are not any, focus on creating them)
-The guard guild, now in charge of coin, will pay the guild when a job is performed, not the guildmember, so it is up to you, the guildmasters to organize payment. (This is why all jobs start at 2 gold minimum, so some payment could be made, wether or not you choose to do so. Or what requirements or promotions you set to receive them.
-It should also be clear to players, whether guildmembers their or not, what Actions the guild services.

It has been very exciting to see how you would all run and organize your guild, and I have stolen the best bits I liked, when setting up my Rangers Guild.

LORDS
As neither of you have set a gender to your profile or your character, I will simply address you both as Nobles. Noble Seth Richards, and Noble Honore Kitt you are both the highest elected nobility there has been, and I will address that gravitas of that now.

You possess an extra vote on general elections, and can Object to a change made by the King. For the extra vote, simply make it clear in someway, perhaps a (2) next to your name. Everyone is already able to vote for multiple choices, but now you can vote twice for the same thing.

While as you were(briefly) Stewards you had the option to Object, I will go over it.

Currently my highest position in what I am currently calling Bishop, which gives me powers over Global decisions. This is checked by the Kings. As I am the only king, I am still unrestricted in that domain. However, actions I make on a local scale are done as King, which you now can check my authority. All these types of changes will be clearly itemized in the update Log at the bottom of the OP. You may Object to force an item to be undone, or Sustain it to stop an Objection that has been declared.

It is my goal to be absolutely sure The Bay 12 Kingdom is both sustainable, and in a trajectory to be compatible with upcoming kingdoms, before I move on to focus my efforts on their creation.

In that effort, I must discuss the current political position you find yourself in, the doorway to Kingship. I do not know where we will be in 2 weeks time, but I know where we are right now. Players don't really know what they can do. This is barely even a forum game yet.

It is important at this time, to build outward, not upward. So I will ask you both to redouble your efforts on your guild duties for now before focusing on advancing on the thrown. Like any good game creator, I must allow the players to make their own decisions, and if either of you choose to run, I will do my best to make sure things are as ready to be handed off as I can before I must step down.

This was a goodness for our kingdom and The Three Kingdoms.

Hey everyone,

This is the link to the document describing the mechanics of the combat system I developed, as well as a precursory list of creatures, items, and status effects.

Can I get a quarterstaff? A good wizardly weapon, I think, for a mage who hasn't managed to get any usable combat magic yet.

Glass is, as usual, correct.
Yep, as ever, I bestow upon Glass the expected +1
I'm gonna say we go with whatever Glass's idea is.

New Poll!

This will be the overlapping the current poll, which my happen more often.

Well Dwarf Fortress Forum players. Here comes my fun job of trying to be fair, and ask, with a straight face, the question I will ask the next two kingdoms:

What alternate race to humans should the Bay 12 kingdom have?

(Each kingdom will get to pick 1 alternate...)

Didn't we already have Dwarves? Actually, no, we were getting those guys as a secondary from the Fluffy Wamblers quest.

Can we have Draconians? (That means dragon people. Think D&D dragonborns, basically. Maybe with them being aligned to certain elements.)

Marga Flag (ends Mar 10)
Maximum Spin 1 | 1 | Maximum Spin
roseheart 1 | 1 | roseheart

Marga Nonnhuman Race (ends Mar 11)
Draconian | 1 | Glass
Dwarf | 1 | roseheart

Basically I am voting for the DF prototypical dwarf.

(FYI, you will be able to play the 1 race other kingdoms select, too.)

Another poll that would be good to knock off our list.

What is the area/biome Marga is built on like?

(Example: Mountainous, Forested, Plains, and so on)
Even when the kingdom is fully developed this trait will still summarize the outskirts. It's that big. And may be the default characteristic of undefined, or 'between area' spaces.

Marga Flag (ends Mar 10)
Maximum Spin 1 | 1 | Maximum Spin
roseheart 1 | 3 | roseheart, UristMcChladni, Rockeater

Marga Nonnhuman Race (ends Mar 11)
Draconian | 1 | Glass
Dwarf | 3 | roseheart, UristMcChladni, Rockeater

Marga Terrain Locally (ends Mar 12)
Mountainous | 1 | roseheart

(Sorry for all the polls, trying to get the big ones settled)

I want to do some fanart!

I will do pixle chibi of your character. Just describe their clothes.

Did some research and it seems Lord is OK for women too, so I will make it the standard.

Seth wears a grey shirt, a blue jacket over it, and a pair of khaki pants. He also has a light yellow crystal shards growing out of where his hair should be, as well as along his right arm. (Those are the things that let him do magic. I promise you he is still a human being. Magic does weird shit.)
