In the multiverse, many legends speak of the Fractal Dungeon, a fortress of infinite horrors that dwell in the voids among the realms of mortals. Those who venture into the Rip go there, hoping to find riches beyond imagination. Most of them never return, or return as horrifying monstrosities that drive men mad with their visages.
But the few who return become heroes. Some return bearing riches beyond imagination, power to topple the gods.
Yet only
One had returned with a copy of the Wizard's Key. A powerful artifact able to create permanent bridges between worlds, to bend creation to their will.
One had returned, and conquered the many worlds.
Under
One's reign, the mortals suffered. Many plunge themselves into the portal in search of ways to defeat them, but none had returned victorious enough. Some left, content with what they have earned.
Will you return? Will you be content with what you gain? Or will you press deeper still, to the Lair of the Arch-Wizard?
This is a high-lethality (yeah, yeah, I know) dungeon crawl running on
Roll for Shoes.
Here's a summary:
"Say what you do and roll a number of d6s.
If the sum of your roll is higher than the opposing roll (either another player or the DM), the thing you wanted to happen, happens.
The number of the d6s you roll is determined by the level of skill you have.
At start, you have only one skill: Do anything 1.
If you roll all sixes on your roll, you can get new skill one level higher than the one you used for the action. The skill must be a subset of what happened to you in the action (Say, Athletics 2 if you were climbing a wall, or Teeth of Biting 2 if you were eating a cake).
For every roll you fail, you get 1 XP.
XP can be used to change a die into a 6 for advancement purposes but not for success purposes."
You can only do what you should feasibly be able to do. And if something is gonna kill you, it will. There's no health-tracking, most of the time. You either survive or you die. On the rare circumstance that you survive after being maimed, it will be noted.

For my sanity, please always put your character's name in your post. Your characters will get a chance to retire every time they reach a Respite, and hold a Treasure. Retiring with Treasures will allow you to bestow Boons to later characters of the player you choose, or to yourself. They will make that character's life easier than yours.
I reserve the right to randomly lose interest in this.
