”That’s right. Well, technically my name is Lillian, but nobody calls me that. I don’t think I got your name either?” she said. She was sure the blonde girl had heard the whole vampire spiel and didn’t reiterate. ”I’m settling in fine! The room’s a bit small but that’s how dorms are right? I’m just glad they didn’t lock us in the basement or give us coffins. How are you doing?”

Idunna had turned on the spot and jumped backwards to sit on the kitchen counter, her hands holding onto the edge on either side of her. She was watching the group kind of... mingled. Staying out of it until suddenly: "Where are you guys going? Know any good places around here already or is this another feat of the almighty google?" Aimed at someone who wasn't in the middle of a conversation. So... Not Bernie or either of the vampires.

"Oh, did I not? Oh, sorry. I must seem so rude, huh? Name's Berenice, but I'd rather you call me Bernie."
Bernie flashes her a smile before continuing.
"And.....well, I suppose it's a.....good thing you didn't get locked in the basement, huh? Coffins would seem a little over the top."

"This might sound weird, but I always thought Coffins looked really comfy. Are they not?"
Dom considers maybe he was a bit Agoraphobic. But being all covered in soft silky stuff that's cushioned never sounded bad to him. Unless it got hot of course.  Can't really do much then. Maybe they have coffin AC units? When Idunna spoke he was knocked out of his musings.
"Oh, we're just going to Chic-Fil-A."

"Not really, no. Terrible lumbar support," Scarlet said dryly. "I gotta ask, of all the places to get chicken in New Orleans, why Chick-Fil-A?" A franchise with a history of. . . unfriendliness. . . to people who might be considered unusual. A list she was fairly high on, herself.

"It's really good chicken."
Dom says seriously. He hasn't had Chic-Fil-A in a year, he really wanted his chicken.

Scarlet wasn't the only one that questioned the choice. "With this group?" She blinked, looking from one person to the other. "Will that even... work? Are they more chill here?"

"Yeah, surely there's a KFC somewhere nearby, right?"

At this point, the guard that had been escorting the two vampires steps over to Dom, clapping a hand on his shoulder with a smile. "Hey man, mind if we talk a bit over here?" He tilts his head off away from the rest of the group. His tone, wording, and body language backed up the fact that this was a request, but somehow it was abundantly clear that it was actually anything but. Regardless, he'd lead Dom a bit away from the rest of the group, reaching back to mess with his hair.

"Kay. So are you running an angle, or are you just that stupid?"

Dom stares at him with a blank expression. He tilts his head before finally speaking.
"I have zero clue what you mean."

"I'll take that as stupid, then. Right, let's try to fix that. Stop trying to get sweet with the vampires. It's a bad idea and is gonna get you killed. You should know this. I've read your file, I've read everyone here's file, and you know how dangerous they are. Just because they look like cute girls doesn't change that behind those eyes is a monster that wants nothing more than to tear your throat out and shower in your blood for no other reason than because they can. No matter how they see you intellectually, how they rationalize it to themselves, you will never be more than at best a potential possession, and that's arguable considering what that means. If you keep this shit up, you're going to get both yourself, and them, killed, and all because you're too stupid to realize that you're playing with fire."

He takes a deep breath.

"You savvy?"

Scarlet let out a sigh. "Whatever that is, I doubt it's good," she muttered. Something told her that the guard wasn't exactly giving him cooking advice. . . . Perhaps that's what she should suggest next time, in lieu of an outing. She supposed she wasn't going to be able to go shopping for her own groceries with any amount of ease or comfort, either. Not that she expected to run through them particularly quickly, for obvious reasons.

".....yeah. Uh......so, uh.....did you pick what you were doing already for subjects?"
Bernie, sensing Scarlet wasn't particularly happy with the current subject, hastily changes it.

Dom grabs his hat as he takes a deep breath. When he feels he's sufficiently calm he speaks.
"Y'all think I don't know that? I know exactly what a vampire can do to a normal person. That said, just because I invite someone out for lunch doesn't mean I'm interested in getting into their pants. I wanna get to know them a little bit better because they're still fine people, urges aside. Seriously though, why the hell do you just assume that I want to get in their pants? I don't know about you but I respect women as people, I like to know what they're actually like if I'm gonna get intimate with them."

"I did. You? Guessing something with music?" Though she responded to Bernie, her attention was still clearly focused on the conversation happening across the room. Unfortunately, her hearing wasn't actually that good; even it it was, the room was noisy enough (though likely getting quieter) that she likely wouldn't be able to make it out regardless.
