C'mon now, that's being meldramatic. Nobody is in this thread throwing insults around, except when you did just then. "Anonymous Coward" isn't an insult, btw, it's slashdot's term for Escaped Lunatics, which is why I used it. Randoms doing drive-by posting are "ACs" in slashdot's lingo, "Escaped Lunatics" here. I was just joking that ACE is like AC. You might as well say the forum itself is insulting him by calling him an Escaped Lunatic. And considering how much larger slashdot is than bay12 (they get 100 times the number of monthly visitors as the entire number of bay12 accounts created in the last 12 years), it's fair to say that a random shitposter here is pretty likely to know the term "Anonymous Coward" already, and not see it as a personal insult.

The guy had a content-free first post which told an obvious joke/falsehood. We did not "scare off" someone who came here and tried to make a legitimate connection with the community, because there was no actual attempt to make any sort of connection with the community in the first place.
