The still cowering men head into the throne room, obviously shaken by their encounter with Ragnar's warmen. Their long, violet robes seem wrinkled, and sweat glimmers on their ridged foreheads. They all bear a tiny box. "King Tago brings you gifts, Malagrange", the leader speaks. Simultaneously, they take the lid of their book-sized boxes.

Within the boxes are three shattered necklaces, neatly displayed. You recognize them as precious gifts your mother gave to King Tago years ago.

"You are no true blood of your mother, Malagrange. Thus, we spit on the trinkets and baubles of the extinct house of Archibaldys. May misfortune befall you."

A: How nice of you to return my stolen property. Begone.
B: I think I shall send King Tago three boxes of shattered... Ambassador
C: This means war! Ready my ships!

Well that doesn't give us much to work with.

The army's not quite big enough to escalate, sadly. But now I know we made the right choice befriending the other two neighbors.

B) if it starts a war, it will be a defensive one, not only we will have terrain advantage(in space??? what?) but our big friends will bring their ships to make sure they won't lose a way to the hub, then they will become weaker, and maybe we can make an counter offense and break contact with the other big kingdom to the hub

With a wave of your hand, the delegation is dragged away, screaming and kicking in vain. It does not take long before their horrific screams can be heard through the halls of the palace, as they are taken apart piece by piece. It seems to last for hours. Finally, silence graces your home once more.

After ensuring they are displayed neatly, the ambassadors are loaded onto one of the autopiloting ships in your hangar. Though less accurate than a hand-piloted ship could ever be, using it will ensure there is no crew to suffer the same fate as these ambassadors. The ship departs clunkily, targeting the landing bays of the Taglerine royal palace. King Tago would get a terrible surprise within the next few days.

4436 A.G., Late First Quarter

The Taglerines have kept relatively quiet, other than the sea of threatening letters sent to your court. No hostile actions have been taken, but your spymasters report an increase of activity in the transstellar portals between Taglerin and Hermesion.

A newcomer has arrived at court. Ithias Thaüm, son of King Rothgar Thaüm and your groom-to-be, has landed, followed by his own personal entourage. The 19-year-old has the physique of a warrior and the stern mentality that comes with it. He informs you he wants you get over with the wedding as soon as possible.

A: The wedding shall be lavishly celebrated, for glory!
B: Ceremonies such as those are a waste of precious money. We shall keep it small and informal.

He may be a warrior, but we are a socialite who has to keep a planet-sized city too enthralled with the aristocrats to rebel. On with the spectacle!

Whilst preparing for the marriage, worrying news from your spymaster reaches you. A network of underground republican rebels seems to be planning a terrorist attack on the palace whilst the ceremony is taking place. Not much is known about the organisation, or its members, other than their rumored plans.

A: We shall infiltrate their ranks and try to unearth more information
B: We shall just have to triple the guards at the ceremony
C: We shall set up a meeting with their leadership and discuss the situation.
