Yup.

EDIT: Double checked, and it says "1.5.0.1 Survival Mode Edition" on the main menu. Weirdly, I just joined another server and I have the same problem...

How many people have tried 1.5.0.1 in multiplayer? Maybe it is a bug?

Huh. I can break grass and stones now, a few moments ago I could not

I've got to say, this game is quite interesting and fun, but the lack of an invert option is throwing me for a loop

The new world seems to be going well. I have a quarry dug near -700,-600 and I am starting a road from there back to the spawn.

So far the road connects the quarry to a nearby house, and from there to the farms belonging to the owner of the house, not really all that long yet but it is still useful.

I don't really have a base or anything aside from the quarry, I'm kinda trading stone and other materials for food and tools. I really should put in at least some basic facilities, in particular a simple forge, but right now I'm too focused on the road.

I really like this game :)

I've set up a base at -650, -650(ish).  Have a farm and decent number of berry bushes.  Also in the front of the house on the hill is a set of tool racks, feel free to take from it.  Well all but the hammers.

Also if anyone wants to provide me with charcoal I can provide iron tools.

Also also I've done a tiny amount of experimentation with charcoal pits and there is a hard limit of 8 charcoal per column along with a diminishing returns on height.  So if you pile your wood to high you will lose out on potential charcoal.  If you fill a 3x3x1 area you'll get roughly 53 coal but if you fill a 3x3x2 area you'll never get more than 72.  I haven't bothered to figure out the math of how much wood to charcoal yet.

I have a small hut near the spawn point with a bit of farmland and some bushes nearby. I'm trying to get a larger farm started so that anyone who joins can have some food if they need

The end of the dug out roadbed running from Shooer's house and my mine is now at -641-550,-418

It is only paved for ~2/3 of its length, but the end of the road is probably a better target for anyone coming to visit.

EDIT: Dug more, you can now hear beasts of ultimate evil wolves howling and see the frozen area from the end of the roadbed.

EDIT2: I extended the roadbed as far as is possible without building bridges, built the ends of the first bridge, and added all the required stonework. The only thing needed before it is time to build the first major bridge is several stacks (~5-6 or more) of stone path. By my calculations the roadbed is about 1/3 done calculating purely by distance.

I am starting to go through the Vintage Story wiki to update it and add articles, if anyone has something to contribute, feel free to share - it's very much appreciated!

It really grew on me after getting my hands on it and trying it. The little things like the animation when you pour molten metal are some of the reasons I'm starting to like it a lot.

Side note, I edited the axe page on the wiki, and was wondering if I did a good job. I'm probably going to get all the other tool pages done in a similar fashion, unless there's some issue I should change first.

The Axe page looks nice, but for future reference you can probably reuse crafting images (eg, from http://wiki.vintagestory.at/index.php?title=Crafting_Recipes)

The wiki is super empty right now, maybe I should help fill it in.

Someone on the VS Discord asked for screenshots of our survival builds so I took half an hour to run around the server like a chicken with its head cut off. Here's what I came up with.

Jelly yet?

OK, I'm done for the day I think. Road end coordinates are now -200,-418

If I don't have it done tomorrow, I will the next day.

I thought the long tunnels through the mountain would slow me down, but I think it actually went faster, since I didn't have to quarry stone to make stone path. The first major bridge is missing two piers, and the second bridge is made mostly of imagination, but otherwise everything is done right up to the end.

What will I do when the road is done? Good question.

Polish unfinished bits of the bridges?
Build small guard towers along the road at strategic places? (for when the night falls)
Make the tunnels a bit prettier? (haven't seen them yet though)
Light the beacons, Gondor calls for aid?
