Precious artifact that you're, you're kept in a sealed box, locked up within Bathlynx house vault. Were you a simple masterwork glove, you'd certainly appreciate that, but as a demonic artifact it kind of limits your contact with the people you seek to manipulate.Luckily, it seems the Bathlynx house vault is also the place where it's most secret negotiations occur. Which gives you the opportunity to examine the following exchange.
The tall cloaked elf carefully puts the simple, wooden box on the table. "Now", she says, her melodic voice dripping with a subtle hint of magic,"this is my offer. In this box is a single wyrmroot. I give it to you, and exchange you give me 3 Talents of Silver or Gold and my own ship through the gorge". The mere mention of such a fortune (more in fact, than the entire house Bathlynx possesses) causes the house Bathlynx patriach and the other people present to jerk back in their seats. Then again, the elf is offering a serious price. The great Wyrmroots are among the most sacred and powerful Guardians defending the elven forests, and you wonder how a single elf could acquire such a thing.
You can feel the conflict in the human minds, greed battling with reason battling with magic. You could easily push it one way or the other. Hell, you could even push them to fight. You have little doubt the elf would easily kill the Bathlynx patriarch, his scribe and the two guards, but there are 20 more within the house.
