So I recently opened up a bunch of coffins for burial, and my dwarves lost their collective minds. Everyone who isn't doing anything, which is most of them, are now dragging corpses who aren't assigned to any of the coffins down to the tombs, then immediately dragging those same bodies back to the corpse stockpile, where another dwarf will grab the same goddamn body and continue the cycle.

Has anyone had any experience with this? Does anyone have any sort of clue what might be going on? This is nearly killing my relatively mature fort.

There is a known bug with werecreature corpses being hauled back and forth. The workaround is to dump/smash the problematic corpses and engrave memorials instead.

I'm currently playing in a reanimating biome and I'm experiencing this problem with corpses that have been reanimated as well.

Not noted in the bug report is the condition where you don't have a corpse stockpile.  My experience in this case: Urist McBodyHauler carries the body to the coffin.  Drops the body on top of the coffin.  Walks a few steps.  Gets a new job to bury the body again.  Grabs the body and drops it right back on the same coffin.  Walks a few steps.  Repeat forever.
