Semi-nomadic.
Mountain Pass and River Valley.

Non-nomad martial option. River Valley gives us food. Mountain pass gives us a defensible site and maybe some militarily useful rocks.

You are known as the sea people. Until just a generation ago you were part of a larger group which would travel to these bluffs every winter to escape the cold of your summer hunting grounds in the mountains.  One year however you found that the shells of the local shellfish made into jewelry that traders would desire.  The families that now make up your tribe split from the rest of the group and settled here on a set of bluffs and inlets that provide high places to build your tents and plenty of shoreline to gather food and shells along.

You are not the only people that you know of, in addition to your former tribe mates you also know of the “wolf people” who live in the forest and are said to bring wolves into their camps. It is these people as well as far wandering traders who barter for the jewelry you produce.

To allow for larger buildings, develop carved stone axes to cut down trees with. If we can do multiple things in one turn, then use these axes to create canoes hollowed out from fallen trees.

Do everything we can towards inventing boats. Focusing on fishing if we can't just invent things.

Also if we can develop a way to get salt and use it to preserve food to make it last longer.

+1 to the axe thing, then if possible +1 salt.

The past decade has been quite productive. Your first innovation came in the form of better axes. You have found that by attaching a hand axe to the end of a stick you can improve its effectiveness and allow people to chop for longer periods without having to rest as often.  You have also found that by lashing several logs together you can make a floating platform to fish or dive from.  Finally perhaps the most important innovation was the preservation of food for storage. By brining you food, either soaking it or boiling it in sea water you can keep it edible for many months. It’s not perfect of course, food still eventually rots or people get sick from eating it but the majority remains fresh.
