Can't select pig tails

A year and 9 months into a fortress, pig tails are suddenly unable to be selected for planting in all underground farm plots. The option is in red, and just can't be selected. I have plenty of seeds and farmers, anyone know why this might be? I can still select them for planting in summer just fine.

Pig tails can only be grown in summer and autumn.  http://dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/DF2014:Crop  Crops will not be planted if there is not sufficient time for them to mature before the end of the growing season.

DF is also backwards in that underground crops have growth seasons but surface ones do not (wild surface plants have seasons, though, but I think cavern ones do not...). This will be reworked at some time in the future, but for the time being that's how it is.
