blood needs to turn brown

blood in real life will stay red for a bit and slowly start turning a darker and darker red until it turns brown why cant this happen in df i mean i know you can't make it turn darker and darker but why not have it turn dirt color oh and i have another idea what if after a blood bath battle secret vampires hang around after the fight to drink the blood but cant drink old brown blood

Lack of the game recognising that blood actually is a rotting material is actually a reported bug, if there's no real code resolution then maybe this suggestion has a place as a transition state before it dissapears.

It would be interesting if materials were able to transition naturally to another material over time instead of just rotting.  Then we could have things like aged drinks or cheeses.
