Lilith raised her hand.
"Not so fast! Parole means we all have to get jobs and no more free food for Lilith. Oh, and we might have to kill some things." she said as she twitched toward the robo-dog beside her.

"Your have one little job to do for the Federation. Then you're free. Until then, your new hosts will provide for you."

Seven stops scratching at his legs and tilts his head.

"When can I get these motion restraints off?"

"As soon as you're briefed and released into the custody of your new employers, all your impounded possessions will be returned to you and any restraints we've placed on you will be removed. Save for a new one. Which will be applied shortly."

Shaking their head a small gentle look overtaking her face before she speaks.

"Now now Miss Ada do not worry. Restraints will be unnecessary for one such as me. It would simply be a waste of time to put such a thing on me would it not?

Do you not think we can work out an arrangement?

Perhaps?

Don't you think that could be just lovely?"

Calm trying to be convincing trying to grab whatever leverage she could. Trying to convince the women that she was clearly innocent and kindhearted. That this was all a mistake hoping to keep some more freedom and versatility over the others.

Make...an attempt to convince.

Burrell shakes his head, a faint smile crossing his lips.
"Don't waste your breath. If I have any idea of what these "restraints" are, none of us will be leaving here without them."

He turns to look at the newcomer, the smile widening. "I must say, Major, I'm interested to see the high-and-mighty Solar Federation also has such a system. Which dirty little job are we being shipped off to do today?"

The synthetic laughter is rather unimpressive, though it does have a tone of the subtle, perhaps even the sinister.

"That doesn't sound too bad. The job, I mean. Not the killing part."

Major Ada narrows her eyes further at Lilith, and then at Sebastian. "You think we'd use those microbomb implants? Cute." She produces a small box from her jacket. "We have something much better."

Seven tilts his head in confusion. "What's that?"

"Mindkill. A cutting-edge weave-assisted tech. And our insurance policy for your compliance. If activated, you will be subjected to information-theoretic death. Every synapse, every transistor, every strand of genetic material, every piece of information encoded within your body will be blanked. The only inconvenience on our part is that a mindweaver needs to tag along to hold the leash, so to speak."

"... I will admit, that is far more sophisticated than I'd expected. Surely a bit excessive, though? If any of us here could survive having their brain stem blown apart, I'd be very surprised indeed."
and extraordinarily expensive, no doubt. This must be very important. Or we're guinea pigs.

"If she has to tag along with us, then we'll end up being good friends, right?"

Seven growls as her arms reach out and some of his armor plates start to retract but seem to be stuck. He makes no motions to either stop her or move away.
"What are you doing?"
