NAF-NMG-52 "Emu"
Being ripped off from inspired by the tragically-banned M2 Browning that entered service in the 30s, the Emu NMG is an entirely new NMG built from the ground-up to work with the new principles of warfare.

It uses the popular .50 BMG round and is aimed to be very roughly the same size and dimensions of the existing Wictor - just at least similar enough so we can use it on the same mounts with little to no adapting of the mounts, though minor modification (included in this design) may be needed in the coaxial hippo mount - such as moving the mount back or opening up the "hole" in the armor or the like.
The crank is built in for maximum ergonomics and fire rate, and a speed limiter is installed to prevent weapon jamming. The mounts can lock in place to maximize accuracy and to avoid bobbing caused by spinning the crank. The entire gun is generally aimed to just be "built better" than the Wickers, which is roughly 40 years old; modernization and streamlining is a general goal.
The barrel is notably longer in order to facilitate the .50 rounds but we anticipate the barrel length to generally not factor into mount compatibility. A crew of three is roughly planned - the spotter, the gunner, and the loader - though it should have zero problems with bigger crews for whatever reason. As an afterthought, the gun can be fit to be carried on the backs of particularly determined soldiers.

An optional attachment exists: a sort of water cooler that can be attached to the barrel. This should allow crews to make tea with their weapon, and we've put care in to eliminate that greasy taste complained about in the Wictor.

TL;DR: We ripoff the M2 Browning but design it with a crank in mind, then add an optional "thermos" to go around the barrel to make non-greasy tea with.

Normal Difficulty: 3

The NAF-NMG-52 "Emu" is the much-needed upgrade for our Wictor NMG's.  It's a new "Heavy" Not Machine Gun, redesigned from the ground up and capitalizing on improvements made in the past forty years of weapons manufacturing.  It looks roughly like America's M2 Browning, relying on the .50 BMG round (significantly larger than the .303 rounds in our Wictor) and making use of improved heat-resistant metals and internal mechanisms to improve reliability.  The ergonomic crank is integrated into the base design and fitted with a speed limiter, physically preventing the user from spinning too fast and causing the machine to jam.  The tripod mounting for fixed emplacements comes with locks to prevent the crank from affecting aim too much, though it will limit the users ability to freely swivel the weapon.  The designated crew for ground use is three men, but at a minimum the Emu requires two men to move - one to carry the gun and mounting, and another to carry the ammo.  The Emu can be freely swapped into all places the Wictor was formerly mounted.

The accuracy of the weapon is decent - there is still a noticeable sway when cranking, but the pattern is predictable and a skilled gunner can partially correct for it.  The internal mechanisms regarding the crank are relatively open, meaning that in dusty areas dirt can build up and eventually cause jams, if not periodically maintained.  The Emu does not require a water jacket, but an optional "thermos" shroud can be mounted for tea brewing.  We manage to remove the "greasy" taste, but now crews complain of a "metallic" taste.  Research into weapons-based tea brewing is ongoing. 2 Ore.

Revision : Winterproofing

A set of modifications designed to get our equipment through cold winter times. Includes : Tarpaulins to keep bad weather out of exposed equipment, small heating systems that can be used to keep engines warm, adjusted fuel, cooling, lubrication and gun oil blends, and a set of wide feet extensions that can be attached to our walkers to prevent them from sinking into the snow.

Revision: Teaproofing
We make sure the Emu thermos brews perfect tea, without any traces of tastes left by the thermos or weapon itself. We also apply this knowledge to every other tea-making facility that requires it, including the outdated Wictor, just in case.

Easy Difficulty: 6

We modify all our existing equipment to operate without issue in cold weather and terrain.  Most notable are block-heaters and winter mixtures for fuel, coolant, and lubricant, as well as "snowshoes" for our walkers.  Our guns (big and small) are also ensured to work admirably in cold weather with carefully concocted gun oils and temperature variance tolerances.

As an added bonus, we give our troops some heavy winter coats and thermoses, which should do wonders at keeping them (and their tea) warm.

Unfortunately, Toskesh doesn't really have that many good designs. Their rockets are mediocre at best, and their grenade launchers only work because our tanks have nonexistent armor and we don't have our own dedicated anti-armor.
But sabotaging their Oil production should do a ton of damage to numerous designs this turn, allowing us to secure victory.

So go after the Zìyóu-52 Merchant Vessel maybe, which gives them three of their TC? And is National Effort, so we wouldn't need to break a lot of them...

Yeah, that's a better idea.
Two of their resources rely on their cargo ship for importing, so we'd have a bigger impact by sabotaging it.

I've also added an option to steal their hovercraft since that's something I think would be a good idea. But not as good as the cargo ship ssabotage.

Swamp Coastal Assault
A Special Ops team will be deployed on the coast via two Red Herring vessels with Ironcasters, escorted by a single Emu-equipped Draft.

The team will sneak into the gulag, covered by bombardment of the area with Ironcasters. The bombardment isn't to cause casualties, but rather to cause chaos. Toskesh won't be expecting an attack here, and their troops should be appropiately confused. The family will be quickly located, and a simple smoke signal created by the SpecOps team will mark them for pickup by the Draft while providing suppressive fire if needed. Once the Draft clears the area, bombardment will cease and the Red Herrings & Draft will meet at a location a small distance away from where the bombardment originated from, to avoid the risk of a Toskesh counter-assault or battery fire.
The team will load onto the boats with the family in tow, and they'll all head to Nogrania.

Swamp Condor Insertion
A Condor, officially carrying foreign tourists and journalists (who totally aren't dressed-up Privates) surveying future-Nogranian lands, will fly over the gulag and feign engine troubles and land (however airships do that) adjacent/on the gulag.
If Toskesh decides to shoot down the Condor, they will firebomb themselves as well as the supposed civilian passengers of the Condor. This is generally a very bad thing for Toskesh to do.

Plainclothes specops will blend into the crowds at the Gulag in the chaos and locate the VIPs. The VIPs will be disguised in Nogranian clothing and given official Nogranian identification. Once this is done, the VIPs will be loaded onto the Condor right before its engine troubles are "fixed". It will then head over to Nogrania with the objective completed.

SWAMP DRAFT INSERTION
The Toskesh gulag deep within enemy territory will not be expecting TONS OF DRAFTS SUDDENLY DESCENDING ONTO THEM.

Especially when said Drafts are equipped with the Emu, expected to make Drafts actually useful at ground attack. And when they still somehow don't have anti-air that isn't rifle rounds ((and if they developed AA this turn, wouldn't this be before either side deploys new designs?)) All available Drafts will be loaded with elite forces and Emus. The general vicinity will be filled with copious amount of .50 BMG rounds as some of the Drafts land forces to secure the compound. Once this is done, the VIPs in question will be located and loaded onto Drafts, and our forces will escape with VIPs in tow before Toskesh reinforcements arrive.
