Because apparently using aluminum plates is more expensive than making infantry armor that somehow uses 3 Ore and 2 Oil.
I am mildly annoyed.

You should really look to the wilderness for your stealth ideas, it has been doing it much longer than you have after all. Take squids for example, that ink trick works pretty well, and in water too! So you just sneak into the dam upsteam, dump several megatons of distressed squid into it, then break the dam. Boom, you suddenly have enough water-proof stealth for a whole city!

No complaints From me. Seems like its good, and if this turn is going to be a rifleman turn, let It be one damn good rifleman turn.

Revision:
NAF-NSU-51: Nogrania Soldiers Uniform 1951 is modernized version of the old uniforms, remaining relatively similar, but also including rudimentary camouflage pattern and new flak-jacket, inspired by US experiments in Pacific theatre and Korean war, which consists of multiple overlapping plates in chest and abdomen area, that are made out of fiberglass miexd with resin and pressed into shape (technology which we totally didin't steal from Americans), and layered ballistic nylon vest that covers the whole torso, back and upper parts of shoulders and has a collar that covers the neck. Includes a zipper on front and straps on sides to allow the jacket to be more form fitting. The helmet is modified to be deeper, to allow better protection on the sides, and now contains compartments for tea inside the liner. The new helmet combined with the flak jacket collar should allow for much better protection and yet not interfere with each other. The whole thing comes standard with complete tin mess kit and a special cup used for tea. As an afterthought a pair of woolen gloves are added.

Hard Difficulty: 1

Nogrania Soldiers Uniform 1951 is an updated version of our current uniform.  Rather than using solid colors such as olive drab and desert tan, our uniforms are now ironically non-uniform in their composition.  They're basically the exact same uniforms but with an additional step in the manufacturing process that partially washes them with similar-colored dyes to add blotchy, random patches of off-color.  This helps break up the outline of the soldier, plus it also helps hide stains.  Additionally, the helmets are improved by making them deeper in a design that strongly resembles a soup bowl.  They are now slightly heavier, but should add some better protection.  They come with an internal cloth pocket for the storing tea tins, but most soldiers just use it to store a map or a final letter in the event of their demise since tea tins can be a bit bulky.  Woolen gloves are well appreciated by the troops, as winter is approaching and things can get chilly.  Our soldiers already have a mess kit and diningware for tea, so these were not included in this design.  1 Oil.

Our attempts to develop a flak jacket are met with failure.  The chemical process to develop nylon - while not exactly new or very secret - is something we did not have at the start of our development.  Our chemical engineering is rather stunted and we spend the better part of this revision just learning what we can about nylon and how to make synthetic polymers. The same goes for fibreglass production.  While we failed to produce any sort of physical result this turn, we have researched the chemical processes that go into this design and are poised to begin setting up production next turn, if we choose to revisit this idea.

It is now the Strategy Phase.  Please select where you would like to push this year and where you wish to deploy your National Effort designs and heroes.

Because some people have asked:
On the topic of visiting the U.N. to protest violations of the Geneva Conventions.
You will vote during strategy phase whether or not to accuse the other side of violating the conventions.  There must be a 75% majority of those who voted to accuse - if that vote passes, then the Combat Phase will include a segment setting up the trial.  Both sides have until the next turn to set up their argument on whether or not the specific weapon violates one or more Articles.  That turn will then start with the U.N. ruling, and if they rule it a violation then the guilty side will have some penalty and be unable to use that weapon that turn.

It basically takes 6 months to have a weapon declared illegal, which is an unfortunate product of how the game design works.  Alternatively we could have inter-combat phase trials, but I felt that would slow the game down too much.  If someone has an alternative idea for how to handle this aspect, please let me know!

UN being slow is realistic.

Shame for the soldiers uniform though it works better than I expected with the roll.

So my reasoning for the hero deployment, Is that taking territory in the fjords is... optional, its not really necessary. We will probably be able to take back the mountains easy, like always, now that were not trying to push into the swamp.
I just really don't want to lose the badlands and any economic gain from it this turn, And to ensure we keep it, we should deploy the hero their to aid in the defense.
If we hold badlands this turn we get rewards from the development track. So holding badlands is majorly important, more so than taking Fjords territory.

To be honest I sort of expected that we will finally fuck something up, considering that our rolls to this moment were generally good.
Although, yeah, that could have gone much worse. At least we don't have a flak jacket that explodes when hit a bit hard. >:|

Hey, that's pretty generous, giving us the basic uniform despite the roll.

Anyway, obviously frostgiant has it rught, strategy-wise. No other option makes sense.
