New one up. I wonder how often Incubus gets attacked in the dream state. Also, since it's Allisons dream state, she could just blast him with tsar bombas or whatever she wanted.

Since all of reality is a shattered dream, the rules are no different here then in the lie of "awake".

Looks like we're seeing the story of Solomon Davids origins, as told by Incubus, though it doesn't appear like he has added his own spin yet. Makes sense as this chapter is centered around Solomon David.

Also, as I wondered in the comments section there, I wonder if Solomon Davids homeworld is the same world that his palace is located on.

Ki Rata.

I like the background lore of Ki Rata because it's basically the martial arts equivalent to a weapon of mass destruction. Those who have mastered it refuse to use it for any reason other than preventing anyone else from using it.

You wish to not unintentionally destroy the world? What arrogance. If you do not wish it destroyed, and so does your counterpart, your desires are the same.

Have you spared even a thought to those who wish to intentionally destroy the world?

That's definetly his homeworld. Also, how do you destroy a sun and how is that place not a frozen dead waste with temps at 40K?

Well, this is KSBD, so someone probably punched it.  That should answer both of your questions.

Still, you can see vapor on the monks breath, so, it's at least cold enough for that.

Also, it sounds like the author of the Manual of Hands and Feet lived well before the Universial War.

*peeks at link* *looks back a couple pages* K... kefka? Is that you?

Oh, that's that Solomon thing. Still haven't gotten around to catching up to wherever he first shows up at... but man, at first glance he could totally be a slumming kefka.

'Where he first shows up at'? You mean back in Chapter One at the conclave?

Certainly lines up that Rayuba is the world where Solomon put his palace, given that Rayuba's sun was stolen, and Solomon said the world has two suns because he "put them there".

Which does mean that in the end Solomon used his awesome power to restore his ruined homeland.

Also, Solomon's reaction to "you have escaped the cycle of violence" is kind of an ironic echo of the story of Prince Kassardis.

It's another notch in the biggest theme of KSBD, which is "Do the wrong thing". Even YISUN did the wrong thing and rejected a perfect enlightened existence through the divine suicide.

eh, showed up proper, I guess. There might have been something early but I don't recall seeing senor star earrings before.

Pretty boy star earrings is Incubus, not Solomon. Incubus has been important for a while, longer than any of the other Demiurges I believe.
Basically, Incubus shows up in Alison's dreams. At the start of book 3 he convinced Alison to agree to a contract of sorts where Incubus helps unlock her power. This is why her hair is white right now.

Right now Incubus is telling her a story about Solomon, who is another of the Demiurges. He's on the cover of this book and we fairly recently got our first good look at him.

This is where Incubus shows up for the first time, way back in book 2.

Ah, alright. The link saying something about Solomon's backstory went to discount kefka so I figured that was Solomon, but apparently not. I'd say good to know but I really should just... catch up, heh.
