His opponent is Allison maybe? Theres probably the off chance that he dies during the tournament

As for the two suns, yeah, it probably is a situation where the main sun was reignited and theres another one in a further out orbit.

Also, for a world with two suns, there is no indication in the shadows that there are two sources of light. So, Abbadon needs to brush up on 'shadows created from multiple light sources', unless it's a reignited Sun and an ignited Jupiter type deal.

There's the light coming in from both sides of the walkway in the previous page, but part of me wonders if he saw the comments pointing that out and just decided to roll with it.

New comic up, and apparently the system has two suns because Solomon somehow (through magic? Ultra-advanced technology? What/Whoever is powerful enough to destroy a star likely has the ability to create one) put them there.
Through martial arts, probably.

From how dramatic it is in that first panel, it's very obviously intentional.

Huh, I didn't notice that with the shadows somehow. I'm sure someone who is good at math can figure out how far apart the two suns would have to be in order to produce the shadows like that. Though Abbadon probably isn't sweating the astrophysical details and just saying 'there are two suns'.

Zaid getting to be an actual character makes me happy. I want to see how he's dealing with this bullshit multiverse.

Why just two, though? There could be more suns, some hiding behind things or in some old lady's cookie jar. I'd go with at least four! Actually I'd go with like fifty but there being portals they bounce around so you only ever see two. The quick way of travelling between worlds would involve playing stellar dodgeball as you pass through the sun pipes~

...

well, then I'd realize the horror I've conceptualized and have something eat all this excess daystar, the damnable glitterbastards

...

Seriously though this is largely a punch magic setting and one where multiple worlds are apparently a thing. There's room for as many sunjerks as the author cares to jerk.

He has a shard of divinity in his brow. If Om's will can hold a city miles in the air, Solly can probably will suns into existence. Either he has a much better will than Om (whose city nearly fell when she had a tantrum) or this is some god stuff which doean't need constant thought.

As nice as Zaid being part of the cast is, it'd be absolutely hilarious if he did not survive this book.

From what we've seen, a lot of the Seven's abilities concern illusions of one sort or another. It's entirely possible that one or both suns are illusory and Dave just didn't feel like extending them to shadows.

Wait, they're mainly illusory? Om changing people to trees, holding up a city, etc.? The Dragon's Priest also did some pretty bad ass stuff.

I haven't seen much in the way of illusions other than perhaps Mammons 'infinite dungeon' (he'd make for a hell of a DM) and the nature of Gog-Agog. There's also Incubus's mind games which I guess you'd call an illusion of a sort.

Also, it can't be both suns because an illusory sun wouldn't give off heat or change the fact that the atmosphere is now frozen at 40K (as in Kelvin).

What he said. We also haven't seen what the others can do.

Those are mostly what I was thinking of, yes. That, and Dave is Pride, so if anyone's going to manage a spectacle for the sake of appearance it'd logically be him.

Not saying it has to be. Just that so far we've seen nothing to suggest it can't be, and it'd explain the shadows.

'If you tried to make an illusion like this, it would be a lie.'

'If a clever enough magician tried, it would still be a mere illusion.'

'Me? When I make an illusion, it is no longer an illusion, as the world knows better than to disagree with my will.'

They're illusions in that there is no clear distinction between illusion and reality. The exercise of divinity has been described as lying so well that the world (or gods? Reality? I forget the exact wording) believes you.

Well, that's what sorcery is. Which may be something of a separate art from what the stinkin' new gods practice, which has a lot to do with sticking a tuning fork in your forehead that contains the secret names and voices of god.

The way I see it is that normal sorcery is the same as lying very convincingly, while the kingly shenanigans of the conquering king and successors is more like telling what you believe to be the truth with such conviction that hey, it turns out to have been true all along.

I think it's kinda important to remember that sorcery is a thing that exists though, and with seemingly very little barrier to entry compared to key of kings bullshit. Cio could create a giant wall of shredding murderous blades using nothing but paper and knowledge of sorcery.
