Ah, the customary killing off of superfluous secondary characters. It does look like Cat Master will be fine as in not dead, but one of his arms may have gotten blown off, if Charons tail and arm getting blown off is any indication. Actually, I'm not sure if Charons arm got blown off...

Xor took fatal damage there (headshot with mask shattered), but whether Nxor took fatal damage remains to be seen.

Now now, a shattered mask isn't necessarily fatal.

The Hot Black Flame "soul" within probably doesn't care a lot if the mask is there or not. But it's not that flame that makes devils as we know them devils. The soulflame is the soul of a devil in the sense of a soul being a thing that holds energy and animates a creature, but the thing that you might hold a conversation with is all in the mask. That's what really hold the soul, in the sense that a human brain hold the soul. Having that shattered is equivalent to having your brain splattered.
...Which, as we've seen isn't something that can't be recovered from. You might not end up being the same person per se, though.

@egan: The unbound devil eating you only happens in the in-between place, shadow realm, forget what it’s called. As we’ve seen with the gold mask devil getting killed in the dungeon, the unbound devil thing doesn’t happen in the physical realm.
