Yes, the minimum is six books. Objective fact, empirically proven even.

I mean, Cio did show that sort of interest all the way back with the "boyfriend? really?" and later the fanfiction hilarity.

I thought it was well timed, part of the central plot line reflecting the decisions both of those two made, and not being aggressively sudden or just a tease. In short: nice.

Kinda sudden, I think? I don't believe Allison has ever shown tendencies towards females. Or demons. Though I may be wrong.

Tendencies shmendencies! There's mostly been at least a snippet of underlying romantic tension between them and the timing feels right after a huge fight.

Agh, it just feels random to me is all. Cio's (previously) bubbly attitude and little fan-fic romances are obviously there, but it's strange that it just goes from no reciprocation to "hey, you just tried to stab me and you threw me over here and hey, why is my lip sore? Oh yea 'cause you clawed half my face off let's snog now so everyone knows there's been a character development thing going on here."

It's not horribly done. It does fit, to a degree. It still feels awkwardly handled to me, alas.

Ya, actually, it could probably have been done differently, but there could still be some time to go before it's a full blown romance. I know we're assuming the gayest possible timeline, but it's still just a kiss. Let's see what the next panel brings.

Not sure how exactly I feel about this one.  On the one hand, it's nice to see Cio being so direct, skips a lot of the screwing around that normally goes on.  On the other hand, while Cio has been pretty clearly interested this whole time, Allison hasn't really showed a strong reciprocation of those feelings.  There have been a few little hints but nothing that screams: "I like you!" from her corner, I don't think the ship is sailing just yet, but this could start moving things in that direction (after all, Allison doesn't really seem to be strongly invested in Zaid, even going so far as to call him a creep).

I like the Cio-Allison dynamic more, and it fits the recurring theme of smashing one's expectations for oneself.

That wouldn't make much difference either way, honestly. She's the new King, she can have a harem if she wants.

I agree with the assertion that she can have a harem if she wants, as the Rising King, and as the inheritor of YISUN, Allison is tied to no morality but her own.

Like... isn't that okay, though? It's really damn rare to see in fiction but it can be nice to encounter a relationship where one or both sides just kinda' ease into things. A more chill build up... relative to the gut stabbing and whatnot, anyway. No need for strong reciprocation or screaming (well, on screen anyway *obligatory wink wink nudge nudge*), just folks getting along more intimately than usual. Smooth fluff, as opposed to the spiky and on fire sort.

Though actually, now that I think on it a second, lily-flavored (maybe homosexual in general, I don't browse enough male on male to have too strong a handle on common themes with them) romance plots having one participant being notably more aggressive/interested/whatever are fairly common, so I'unno. There's an argument it's a fairly normal romance scenario, I guess.

Conceptually it's common with romance in general but that particular setup also has a nasty habit of getting real sketchy real fast, and at least when they're not playing fan-servicey molestation angle yuri/femslash/whatever tends to be fairly on the up and up when they're running with that sort of character interaction.

I trust ABBADON not to get sketchy with this, though. To skirt the line, maybe, but I hardly think this is going to devolve into gay smut for teens with a poorly articulated rape fetish.

Let's not forget though, she does have loose lips. Why, she even made out with herself not less than ten pages ago!

I'm wondering if this is all Cio vision :P
Because they do look more like what's in the storybook. Either way, yay for nice things.

I wonder though, what Cio and Mammon's past was...perhaps that's the next event that'll unfold.
Oh and those other dudes who split up after the air-room got explodeded. I hope the cat is okay too.

Oh, sure. Was mostly trying to articulate that I'm less worried on that front with lesbian stuff than I would be with heterosexual, since "poorly articulated rape fetish" describes way, way too much of the commercial romance genre.* Though if the ads and whatnot are anything to go by male homosexual material has a problem on that front, too...

* Well, either that or I've been beating the odds like holy hell when I've skimmed or read romance novels over the years.
