Wonder whether the current senility has something to do with old Yabby's previous visit. She did, after all, attempt to steal a key. One wonders how tied they are to brains...

Probably nothing as they can give pieces to emissaries without problems. The senility here is just from being immortal (in the sense of not dying of old age and age related diseases) while at the same time not being granted eternal youth. The rest of the seven have some method of maintaining youth while at the same time being immortal. Jadis is in a magical form of cryostasis, I suspect that Incubus is MAYBE a vampire (or variant of, what with the blood chamber), Jaggananoth has those bunch of iron angel feathers stuck in him and maybe some other stuff, Mottom has the fruit, Solomon has martial arts voodoo, Gog-Agog is.... a hivemind of worms?, Mammon is naturally immortal without the luxury of having something that maintains youth.

The difference is that, with maybe the exception of Gog-Agog, the other seven started out as human, and being human, are mortal. Thus, they sought out methods to prolong life while maintaining eternal youth. Don't know if Gog-Agog started out as a worm hivemind or that transformation came later. I saw a tumblr post saying that we're supposed to find out more about that one in the next arc.

He can give a key, but perhaps it's different if it's nicked. Age-related disease is indeed the most likely reason, but it seems to me there must be a narrative reason why Yabby forgot what happened to her in the Vault. And as it seems likely that whatever it's about concerns the Dragon, a Dragon which now has a rather significant problem, I'm adding two and two. Of course, could be something completely unrelated which will crop up later, but something narratively juicey must have happened, and so far only the senility of the Dragon fits.

So, 01 doesn't seem very smart, based on her recent rhetoric she's probably the worst nursemaid grampy dragon could get.  Especially with Mother Om right outside the vault.

I wonder what this means exactly for the wager they made with the king of devils. In a sense, they haven't failed because he's not there anymore. I suppose the next step is to try and find out where he is now.

I'm sure the king of devils would at least be impressed if they did the detective work rather than just return with 'uhoh, he's not there anymore'.
