Those traits are about what I'd guesstimate that they'd do/be worth. Alright, I think I have a sheet, would've posted sooner but passed out in the middle of it, it seems ok, but their may be a derp in here somewhere...:
-Nation Name: Agartha
-Starting Government: Magocracy
-Leadername: Twothought
-Leader Traits: Power Sources: Sorcerer (-1), Bloodline (-2)
-Leader Bio: A young 'Oracle' definitely, Twothought spent his life as many an initiate in the cavernous realm of Agartha, gathering knowledge from the stone, and the ancient sacred carvings; although Twothought also explored other magics than the norm... Magics that would save the Pale Ones as a species... For when the Cataclysm hit, the world was swept by storm. His Portal Magic, first set up as a last resort method, turned out to be what eventually saved his species. Standing at an impressive for most races 4 meters, he is short for an Oracle, although that is due to Age; alas, he is the most veteran Earth Reader among those few who made it, and the Title was thrust upon him, even if it is mostly honorary.
-Race Name: Pale Ones
-Racial Traits: Intellectual (-2), Ponderous (+2), Amphibian (-2), Doomed (+2), Slow Metabolism (-2), Red-Thumb (+1), Cyclops (+1)
-Race Description: Pale Ones are large, pale skinned, cyclopsean humanoids, sporting a set of external gills. While with size comes strength, Pale Ones typically aren't that much stronger than the average human, and while they are more durable, it turns out that fast reflexes to mitigate damage is a rather important thing in combat, and their slow metabolism has slowed down their reflexes to such a point. As such, they aren't that much harder to take down than a human provided you know what you are doing.
Now, that said, Pale Ones never stop growing, however; none of the Pale Ones who made it through are anywhere near old enough to achieve said Ancient Stature.. Other than Twothought, that is. Pale Ones have a very notable metabolism; that is, they can go great lengths of time without food, even surviving for years without any while in a state of hibernation!.. At least, they used to, it seems that the ability was somewhat magical, as the new world has greatly interfered with it and left it in a much diminished state.
-Nation Description: Agartha used to be located in the bowels of the Earth. From this secluded location, the Pale Ones had a relatively easy life away from war, and their metabolism made hunger a non-issue for the most part; allowing them to develop a society based around gleaning the secrets out of the earth. Those who pursued this path became known as 'Earth Readers', with those who've attained sufficient skill and age being referred to as 'Oracles', and truly their magical might was great, being able to listen to the earth itself, they say. A small select group of the most capable Oracles led the Pale Ones from their Council.
When the Cataclysm reached the caves, the society was confident that they'd be able to push back the 'surface invaders' and as such, only really explored Twothought's escape portal as a 'just in case' measure. And for a time, they held, utilizing the natural defenses of being underground with their darkvision to great effect. But then, they Cataclysm pushed hard, having more or less finished off the surface world, and the lines faltered.
The Cavern Guard managed an excellent fighting retreat, buying time for resources to be redirected to Twothought, to finish the portal and finish it now... It seemed that it was finished in time to evacuate a significant number of Pale Ones, for already 10,000 of them managed to cross over, and the defensive line was still holding!
But then, Tragedy struck, an Ancient Seal, long holding back Unfathomable Evil; has been weakening all this time... And chose this exact moment to burst. This almost certainly killed off everyone still on the other side of the portal, for the brief second its Malevolent Power poured through the portal before it overloaded and cut off was sufficient to cull half the number of the refugees..
And now the survivors look towards Twothought, the Last Oracle for guidance... But will Twothought lead them to greatness? Or is he only prolonging the inevitable in this surface lit landscape? It is only now that he realizes that they are used to working in caves and harvesting mushrooms, not forests and fruit... And that the carvings of ancient knowledge were due to transferred over next...
