Neat things you've noticed in Fort Mode
« on: December 25, 2017, 06:58:10 pm »

I don't think the Fort Mode forum has a thread for this like the advmode thread.

1. Citizens will become thirsty in their sleep, but don't wake up to get water. One would think that they'd dehydrate, but other citizens will get a bucket and give water to them.

If you don't assign rooms to their parents, children in your fort will flock together and play, and recite poetry to each other. Not even in the tavern, just in random places in your fort.
If you assign rooms to their parents however, they will mostly play by themselves (or with siblings if they have any) near their parent's room

((It turns out I'm looking at such a flock right now! Neat.))

When selling an artifact, a small window pops up and the trader says something like "I recognize this is no mere trade" and something else, including the name of the artifact, but I don't remember exactly the text.

I'll post it word by word if i sell another artifact sock or something.

I believe this thread is what you're looking for; http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=145317.0

None the less; If you attempt to trade before the merchants have finished, you get a message along the lines of 'I apologize for the delay, we will be ready soon'.

Mine always hang out by the well. I like that they don't automatically choose the tavern.

There's also that flavortext when you try to seize items in the depot, only with no objects selected. I forget exactly what each civ says, but it's pretty funny.

I wish it would give you a "This is no mere trade, are you sure?" second chance.
I needed to sell everything else after overlooking that artifact breastplate.

Oh, I traded away a sweet steel earring once because I didn't paid attention to it, For now I just create a trade goods stockpile to make sure I'm picking bins just with what I want to do away with.
