Ability to make specific requests of tavern performers
« on: December 19, 2017, 11:58:56 am »

Just in case this isn't already something that's been considered, I'll post it here. I think that in addition to having the ability to put on performances ourselves in adventure mode, we should also be able to request specific poems/musical compositions/dances of NPC performers in taverns if we so choose. Honestly half of the time I forget that I can't already do this in the game, which just goes to show how much I think it should be a feature. :P

It's actually pretty terrifying to think about having all of your fat melt off into grease because you started sweating too much.

seems good, but I feel that there needs to be actual music playing for musical performances to make it more worth while (no clue how much time that will take or how hard that would be)

Someone hands you a basketful of Jeses.
Cheerful with a side of wink wink nudge nudge I bet this guy's spine would look great mounted on my wall.
You ever get so mad you fuck a donkey?

But, it wouldn't make any sense for them to magically be able to perform dances and performance that they don't already know. And they already perform the ones they do know, so...

Fair point. Maybe there could be an option to teach other characters art forms you already know.

Or we can just forget I ever mentioned this suggestion. Whichever is more convenient... :P

Teaching others already happens, that's how the art forms spread throughout the world. Unlike scholars though, I don't think the entertainers teach each other during fortress mode yet. So that's something that needs to be added. Taking on apprentices (once dorf civilians are actually able to leave your site) or just passively learning through watching, as I guess many bards did back in the day.

Fleshing out the adventurer bard role by being able to take on apprentices and teaching them would be good too.

Also requesting the performance to write a piece to your likings but flavored b theor personality and mood and art form...
