I know the dwarf that reads the book stays friendly.  Not so sure about the raised zombies though.

The zombies might be friendly to their master (they didn't seem to be when I tested it, but others give conflicting accounts) but they won't be friendly to your other citizens.

If you have a book that makes dwarves into necromancers, then convert the entire fortress.

This has several noteworthy benefits:
Undead will no longer attack your population (all necromancers).
Small (untested?) chance of necromancer dwarfs raising undead when in combat situations (not even sure on this one.)
Necromancers (IIRC?) get the STERILE tag, so no more babies.

Wow. So you live forever, but cannot create new life.

Also, if you ever figure out why poets/bards/dancers just randomly start butchering people/getting butchered, please don't fix it, I love never knowing when a dance party will turn into a slaughter.

Ironic. He could save himself from death, but not others.

Yes, you can be both a necromancer and a vampire simultaneously.

Necromancers don't drink IIRC so you might have trouble turning them into vampires.

In that case it might be easier turning vampires into necromancers

No exertion, no sleeping, no eating.
No drinking may be a detriment.

I guess no exertion could also be a bad thing if your dwarves get in an endless fight versus something.

Reading his name would trigger it. Thinking of him would trigger it. No other circumstances would trigger it- it was strictly related to the concept of Bill Clinton entering the conscious mind.

Is your anti virus up to date? Someone recently had an AV removal of a DF file, got Microsoft to recheck it, after which their anti virus was updated to not flag it incorrectly.

windows defender claims to be up to date..i mean i was pretty baffled that i got the virus (since this is the lazy newb pack that i used in the past too) and thought it might be a false alarm but the computer claims its dangerous, and im really bad at computer stuff and the only thing i know for real is that "trojan" was something very very scary when i was a little kid and i really dont like the sound of that thing being on my computer..so now im deleting the entire thing and downloading the vanilla one...need to learn how to read ascii anyway so i dont look like a complete scrub right?
