Inganna: Normally, it would cost us a mere five cows to buy each thrall, but since they need to be captured to be of any use, we can get them for far less. I'll go; you need send only a few warriors with me.
Varmand: I wonder how dragonewts feel about the keeping of thralls.

Since buying them I think entails taking them as thralls, and our ancestors won't be happy with us just giving them up, let's at least try to convince the thanes to turn away.

While it is true that it is wrong to mistreat thralls, I doubt this thrall-taking clan cares. Nor do I think we can really lord legality over them considering our position. Let's try the third option.

 This might seem like a bad outcome, but we actually gained clan magic (presumably from our ancestors) and mood from this.

Think we should promote some more thanes.

Did the standard besides the one war. I think two is a bit too much considering how little raiding we do, but we definitely need more than last year.

I really wonder what the point of that event is. There doesn't seem to be any reason to refuse the match, there's no flavor text about how another carl or thane has a private feud with the husband-to-be...just a prospective wedding.
