Volcanic Aquifer

Hello all,

I'm working on a volcano Fortress with an aquifer, and instead of the traditional methods, I wonder if it's possible to breach the aquifer using the magma in the volcano?

Has anyone else tried this?

If you mean channel into the aquifer and obsidianize the water with magma, yes, that works. It's more or less the same logic as the cave-in method.

If you dig down alongside the magma shaft you can actually bypass the aquifer so you don't have to bother with breeching.

with channeling you can eliminate a lot of aquifer with a volcano

As a player who had embarked at a volcano with aquifer before, I can confirm the magma treatment does work on aquifers by virtue of using the obsidian as the dwarven cork to the elven aquifer.

It's definitely not the worst idea to ready a magma-safe screw pump, on the chance you bring in too much magma though.
