Passive mega-beast in .44?
« on: December 02, 2017, 11:55:43 am »

In my current fort I have had 4-5 mega beast like titans arrive, but they just hang around their entrance area. Even thou they have a clear path to dwarfs and my fort. Anyone else experience very passive invaders?

Its a noted bug in #0010388 on the mantis tracker. PTW this space for a update on the bugs development, i've not experienced it myself but it sounds like it sucks, lets hope it gets a quick fix before the next bugfix version.

Happens to HFS too reportedly

I'm having the same issue. It's annoying, but at the same time, kind of sad. I sent my military over to kill one FB and it ran away from them.  It's a gigantic hairy grasshopper with a knobby shell and poisonous vapors...and it ran away in panic like a bugbat.

Do you think they could be buggily using thief code? Having come to your fortress to take your artifacts as megabeasts possibly do.

My minotaur thieves (regular item_thief civ) run away in panic too as soon as they're spotted by dwarf children. Thieving seems to override any regular morale checks (regardless of flee_quick tags which seem to make no difference to the speed at which kobolds flee).

Not sure about passive, my one was just stuck. I sent four dwarves out to kill investigate the cyclops on the edge of my map and only two came back, both with nasty injuries... and the monster was still there on the same square until I sent out a second squad to finish the job. He charged the second unit, and flung around a few pet animals before being finally put out of his misery. He did seem to be stuck until then though.
