I feel as though spears would be best. Keeping the head simple will keep aiming from being too much of a problem. I mean, sure, they will still be good against a charge, but a big lump on the end will mean more effort to hold it steady when trying to be precise, leverage and all...

Just to be clear, the system I propose would have votes be moveable so long as they haven't won anything. So the votes for things other than Dark foundry could be changed. Sorry if I am getting patronising here, but it is just so easy for miscommunications and "spent" could imply that they are gone. Again, My honest apologies for any bother caused by my posting this. Also it is really nice that everyone seems to be going along with my madness?

While we are not fighting on the first turn, they never said anything about moving. Fast transportation could be used to flank enemy forces, and might aid our progress across the planes. Then again, there may be no actions this turn at all, in which case it wouldn't matter...

Those transports seems a bit coffiny... Could they maybe have a rider or wand ports or something? I can see that it would be difficult to fit it into the theme, but it just feels a little like the forces within are kind of doomed if the transport encounters something that it can't just bite in half and then move past.

I think that the transport would be helpful, RAM, but not everyone wants to go the biodemon route, plus they will be expensive.

@PirateJoe, we can prototype the spearcaster now, but it will be our third action of the research phase.

I don't really se the point of prototyping at present. If we were really counting on the design then we would want to be sure, but right now the pressure is off and we don't have any revisions left before production, at which point we can build some and see how they work that way. Sure, we might buy some duds, but that seems cheaper than missing out on one design for the first turn.

I've been thinking about how the planes might be, and i had an interesting thought.

At one point, the GM describes the plane of water an air as, "not being uniform. The plane of water might have bubbles of air, and there might be islands in the plane of air." (or something like that.) I think the plane of earth is likely to just be earth, with the "pockets" being caves of different types. The more i think about it, the more likely i think that it's probably true. If every plane had a surface, air would be weighted as far more important to develop than anything else. Flying would be super OP, because you could just fly over the oceans or ground or whatever is down there. In terms of balance, air will probably either be much harder to develop, or not all planes will have a "sky".
