Sigh you people truly don't understand why elves are corrupt and evil and mistrustful beings, let me explain this...
The Nature Set contains Elves, Light bows, and rods of growth
>Elves are tall humanoids with leaves for hair made from wood, Elves are decent with ranged weapons and have a slight affinity to Nature magic, although they are harmed by the common metal “Iron” and are somewhat weak physically.
What this means that the elves are weaker against melee attacks if not for their innate wood skin which gives them a lot of weaknesses like a higher weakness to fire and being attacked, have less carrying capacity so don't expect them to use two-wielded or armor any time soon, as with other penalties natural fragility comes with.
The reason why the Soulless from the Hoard are better is because of a simple reason called manpower, with the ability to field three times the amount of people with better physical traits, we can have better forces and have much more easier time with conquering the planes of air and water. We also get a functional military tactic and a decent weapon, which can be improved. A final note is of synergy, the Archangel probably likes beings that are tankier (with the Soulless being better than the elves in the strength department), also with the soulless being able to be deployed in a much larger manner, it would make the healing in a mass area a lot more effective, as well. Further, the lack of specialization of the Soulless is also a strength because this means that starting with a base sheet that can be specialized into different areas allows these specialist to be much more effective as their given job
Anyway I believe tntey vote was ignored so a change in the vote box-snip-
His vote wasn't ignored, actually, he didn't place it in the votebox and we're not required to place it for him. Also, I did not see it in the first place, it wasn't even bolded.
More weaknesses: No, actually, really no. Wood is very tough. If they use spears or swords, they'll be almost unable to hurt them. Fire isn't THAT strong against wood, trees don't burn that readily. Fire has to be held against them for some time.
Weaker in general: Um, sort of. It's easy enough to
use our growing magic to make bigger and better Elves in a single revision, I should think.
Soulless are better: Yeah but they can't think for themselves, and would be easily defeated by a bow-using, intelligent Elven army capable of shooting them from range and retreating.
Everything else: So, the Unsouled are not stronger than Elves because Elven equipment and tactics (According to GM, they are intelligent, and so do not NEED a tactic to look at their equipment [bows] and say "I should not get too close to them") are perfectly suited to killing off massed hordes of melee-reliant unarmored hostiles. Elves are easily adapted using preexisting magic, MUCH easier than even the "blank slate" Unsoulled. The Archangel has wings. We will add wings to our Elves, and suddenly it will be impossible to engage them in melee combat. Then the Archangel won't really have any healing to do, and a design or revision can add empowering spells to his arsenal.
