So apparently Imgur's about to remove a bunch of stuff... anything in the HoL that's stored on there is at risk.

Crap on a stick.  I'll do what I can up to May 15, but I'm putting out a general call to arms here; pictures stored on Imgur need to both be saved and paired to the relevant post of a given entry.  Just saving the picture without reference is effectively useless.  If you have the hdd space, one option is to save the webpage as a full html download with local pictures (no links).  Spread the word!  Edit; https://www.reddit.com/r/dwarffortress/comments/12tcjfc/the_official_hall_of_legends_needs_your_help/

A full html save of each page is just fine.  I realize some stories already have stuff on DFFD as you mention, I've been going through everything this weekend to update and coordinate efforts.  For example, stuff like Under Grotto or Bravemule were captured by The Wayback Machine and should be downloaded from there instead of Bay12.

Awhile back I went and downloaded as many dwarf fortress succession fort pdfs that I could find. Some of them aren't in the Hall of Legends but it looks like a lot of them are. I also have Nist Akath already downloaded. I don't know if it will help but I uploaded this to the internet archive at https://archive.org/details/Murderflood.

Okay, I've got Smallhands' HTML and images all done. Here's the DFFD link. I have been working on a PDF of the whole store for a year (obviously on and off, mostly off) but with this I'll still be able to finish that whenever I actually do.

For now, I can claim these:

Dwarves within Dwarves - IMAGES ALREADY GONE, but the map archive file is still there.
2212 z-level above-ground Adamantine Spire - Images possibly gone, most of the thread is people talking about their CPUs melting trying to load the save.

Copperblazes - Seems this one is gone too.

I'll keep you updated on how many I get done. I can do a few threads a night, no issue.
Space shouldn't be an issue for me. I've got nearly a TB of empty space here ready to store stuff for however long is necessary. Smallhands was only 150 MB, and was 100+ pages.

I did not realize DFFD could accept zips or other file formats.  Excellent then, that will do in a pinch.  I will updating all of the dead links as best I can today.  For everything that still has active pictures, I think the best option at this point is for folks to simply commit to saving a given story and letting me know so that we minimize duplicate efforts, as happened with McCreeper.

For the time being I've compressed each folder into a .rar archive and uploaded each one to the DFFD; if anyone wants to take a stab at making them more readable (e.x.: turning the pages into one PDF) they're welcome to it.

Yeah Drunkenfortress has the TinyPic problem, there were attempts to archive tinypic. I believe 1% of Tinypic photos were archived.

I made a code skeleton for generating HTML pages from Imgur albums, some while back. 90% sure it won't be useful in the least because there should be better tools out there (and it doesn't download the images, only the album info/descriptions), but here it is none the less for those remaining 10%.
