Apologies for going ahead and nominating again since there wasn't a deadline of how long you must wait I just assumed it would be fine to go ahead and traffic has picked up a fair bit more thanks to Steam Release.
I personally would like it to continue or do something similar, and in that case I would be on board for discounting the nominating vote(mine) and even raising the required total.
I can speak that the story in particular had a lasting impact on me personally. It and the museum convinced me to truly try to tackle the complex nature of adventure mode and dig past the simplistic dialogue even to the extent of starting my own adventure mode story on this particular forum. It also really got me to start writing creatively again which is something I haven't done in so long (my journal is made up almost entirely of to do lists, random notes and numbers). So I've just been sitting around thinking about Thob and thought "I really wanna give back to Loam for the entertainment and world he built for me to enjoy"
Also from what I've seen necroing old threads is strongly discouraged here, and so with the current forum layout unless it either gets in hall of legends or gets occasionally bumped to the top it seems impossible for it to have a lasting community impact that exceeds 6 months unless I or someone else does this exact same thing later on.
I also understand the logic of wanting to keep the hall of legends reserved for those who win by a notable margin as to keep it cream of crop, and so is there a middle ground we could reach too?
If we wait a year it basically means one of us has to either remember to do so, as it will sink many pages below visibility, or set a calendar reminder. Either way it being nominated later seems like it might be done either trivially or with the same mind that I had in either case I feel it doesn't accomplish the goal of limiting.
I have absolute respect for whatever decision is settled on and promise to be an adult about it I just love Thob's story truly!
