1. Everything forgotten beasts do can be done in the raws.
2. Contaminants are by nature either solid or liquid, a gas is a gas. If it's created as a gas it will be a gas, always.
3. Forgotten beasts use interactions to spew gas, not secretions, but either are fine.

Are mono-gendered races still borked? I'm trying to test DDU witches in worldgen but they don't seem to spawn - whats weird though is that the cave-dwelling skeletons who are composed of non-gendered creatures do seem to spawn properly.

Doesn't seem to work in arena, or I haven't waited enough, will this work? This is on my WIP creature's blood and spit, anyways.

do you see it get smeared on any ones limbs (probably feet if they walk through the blood) have you tried picking any up and eating it

you also have RESISTABLE so do note, creatures can have a chance not to have it effect them

Yea, it smears. So yeah, it should work?

It should after a delay (start at 50 ticks), if not try removing RESISTABLE and VASCULAR_ONLY.

Will a syndrome with [AFFECTED_CLASS:HUMANOID:MALE] only affect a male humanoid, or does effect both humanoids and male creatures?

No, neither. AFFECTED_CLASS only takes one argument, HUMANOID is not a creature class in vanilla afaik so it'll do nothing unless you add a HUMANOID class, MALE is not a creature class unless you add it.

Yeah I was gonna say, I've had dwarf civs led by an elder/high priest class with religion responsiblity and they work fine but it just doesn't actually do anything, I don't think it does for elves either sadly, anybody gotten it working in the newer versions?

Classes are identifiers to allow you to group creatures. As an example: all living creature are classified in GENERAL_POISON.

Actually, I've added the HUMANOID, and MALE creature classes.

I think with syndromes it's an OR?

But with the ANIMAL tags for entities it acts as an AND

So... I'd like to make chitin and scales usable material in the creation of things, perhaps like crafts and/or armor. How would I go about to accomplish this?

Add tokens like [ITEMS_LEATHER] or [ITEMS_HARD]

That lets the game know the object is usable. With ITEMS_LEATHER for scales you'll see people wear scale clothing for example, ITEMS_HARD is moreso for objects like crafts so along with ITEMS_LEATHER it'd fit on chitin - you'd have people both wear chitin clothing and also see it used for crafts.
